We decided to blow some money and stay in a nice place right on the water. We stayed in the newer section that juts out on the right hand side of the property with suites. It was very pretty and we enjoyed our room. At night, it was not that quiet due to a huge tent and a wedding that was going on. They are entitled and hope they had a nice wedding, but the tent blocked the ocean view we paid a ton of money to have and the noise from their DJ was a distraction as well. I would check with them another time and ask if there is a wedding tent to obscure the view if I were booking.
No complaints otherwise, I guess. The breakfast was nice and the staff treated us well. It rained the entire long weekend but that was not the fault of the place for sure. Once the wedding tent came down, we could see the tides coming in and out and it was fascinating. That bay almost empties at low tide and then comes crashing in with force, especially in rainy and windy weather. I enjoyed this greatly.

Thank you for your review here on TripAdvisor. I appreciate your comments and wanted to let you know how we handle weddings here at the Inn. We have not had a wedding on the lawn go past 8pm since 2009. It was due to our experiences in 2009 that we realized that we wanted to limit the number of tents on the lawn to less than 5 a year, and that no wedding groups could play music beyond 7:30 at night. If we have an event with a tent it is typically erected on the day of the event, with it coming down the same day if possible or by early the next morning and placed so that minimum in. We learned from our guests comments how to be sensitive to those who were not part of these events and to protect the views for all. As we only had 1 tented wedding last summer, I'm thinking that your stay must have been quite some time ao as we have made major modifications on the weddings and events we hold on the lawn starting in the 2010 season. We publish all weddings in our annual newsletters that have tents associated with them (only one in 2012 so far) try to ensure all guests know through signage and publications.
I’m glad you enjoyed your room, views the attention by our team and the fascinating views of the miles of coastline seen from our Inn. We have expanded our continental breakfast in the past couple of years with the addition of multiple baked goods, granola, yogurts, fruit and cereals. I hope you will give us another try when you come back to the area. We’d love to show you around and find the right room for your visit.
Sincerely, Sarah Diment
