We were delighted when we arrived at the Inn Britannia this past Sunday and were warmly met by Caren and Susan despite the early January cold and snow outside. We immediately felt as comfortable as if we were staying with good friends. Caren and Susan were wonderful hosts and lovely people and made our three night stay in Searsport absolutely perfect.

We enjoyed staying in the London room very much. It was cozy and quite pretty. We took a tour of all of the rooms and were impressed by how lovely the rooms are and by the wonderful antiques and British memorabiliia throughout the Inn. We especially liked the displays of english china and the teapot collections. Absolutely lovely.

The hidden gems (for animal lovers) of this place are their wonderful cats and dog (Turtle) who will readily adopt you. We were quite happy to spend some time being entertained by the antics of Gerald, Turtle, Zoe, and Harry. (By the way, Turtle understands everything you say.)

Our first night was extremely special as we had an incredible dinner of steak and ale with yorkshire pudding (these gals are gourmet cooks). We were so full we could not finish our desserts!

The breakfasts were truly wonderful. We were pleasantly stuffed. The house breakfast special is unique (we won't spoil the surprise by describing it) and Queen Victoria's pancake was scrumptious (but my husband says be sure to ask for Warren's bacon which has apparently now been named after him!)

When you want to stay at a B&B in mid-coast Maine we can't think of a better place than Inn Britannia. We have stayed at our share of inns and the Inn Britannia is by far one of the nicest. We can't wait to to come back to visit again soon!

I couldn't be more pleased with our stay at the Inn Britannia. My husband and I took advantage of their Christmas Getaway Package this year in order to acquaint ourselves with Maine and spend some time together. Searsport itself is lovely, with more tourist-y villages very nearby. The Inn is in a great big historic home, which Caren and Susan (the Innkeepers) have lovingly and whimsically restored and decorated. We were made to feel absolutely comfortable during our stay. We stayed in the Windsor, which is significantly larger than the other rooms, and we loved it! My husband and I were warm and snug with the gas fireplace in the bedroom and spent a good deal of time lounging there. The ladies are the consummate hostesses, and we did not want for anything except perhaps more time to spend with them in this magical place! The food was rich and satisfying, and they made sure to ask ahead about any special dietary needs so that we could enjoy without worries. What a wonderful holiday! I am taking my mother there this summer to introduce her to Maine.

My husband and I wanted to get away from it all for Christmas this year. We searched for a B & B where we could have Christmas and found Inn Britannia. It was a very lucky find. Caren and Susan were gracious and acccommodating hostesses, the food was exquisitely prepared, the room we were given was comfortable and snug. We had a marvelous time there and enjoyed being pampered. We got home yeaterday and have already booked our room for next year's Christmas holiday. We can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Inn Britannia for three nights. Much of Maine shuts down during the winter months, and everything is closed on Christmas, but we still enjoyed a nice long drive on Christmas day enjoying the breathtaking, panoramic ocean views of the lovely Maine coast. We had a grand time exploring. On the 26th we enjoyed a day of antiquing and shopping in Searsport, Bucksport, and Belfast. It was wonderful.

Thanks, Caren and Susan for taking such good care of us. We look forward to seeing you next year.

We just returned from a quiet, relaxing weekend at Inn Britannia in Searsport, Maine. A great getaway after a few days in Boston, to the quiet countryside of Searsport. Inn Britannia makes you feel like you've stepped into the English countryside. We stayed in the wonderfully, spacious and warm Windsor suite with an entry area furnished with a small table. Off the entry area you have the luxurious master bath with an incredible clawfoot tub, complete with candle, bath salts, and wine glass holder. The bath also includes two pedestal sinks and a wonderful showerhead in the shower. (More luxurious tub and shower than I've had in top rated hotels!!!!!!) Then you enter the spacious, but cozy bedroom - - complete with your own gas stove, bay window with a peek of the bay, chaise lounge chair and wonderful antique queen size bed.

After a restful nights sleep you are greeted the next morning with an incredible breakfast - - not any skimpy, ordinary eat and run breakfast. Again, a wonderful touch of old English with your own tea pot including a "tea cozy" to keep it warm and delicious breakfast selections served on English chinz china. Innkeepers Caren and Susan are delightful and offer wonderful suggestions for things to do/see in the area.

Inn Britannia is a MUST SEE and EXPERIENCE to appreciate. Check out their website for good descriptions of rooms and other specials during holidays and other events!!

We LOVED it and will return!!!!!!

“Great Maine vacation”

We just enjoyed our second Thanksgiving at Inn Britannia, and are already looking forward to next year. The innkeepers, Caren and Susan, are such warm and gracious hosts, they make their guests feel like family. They do everything so beautifully, and make it seem effortless. The other guests are congenial and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Food is SUPERB, paired with great wines, and sherry is available for an aperitif or a bedtime treat. The inn allows dogs in a couple of its rooms, so our standard poodle was happy and comfortable in our room. The coast of Maine is a wonderful place to visit, with beautiful vistas and terrific shopping. There's more to do in the summer, of course, but even in November there are state parks to hike in, lovely little villages to explore, etc. We wholeheartedly recommend this inn to anyone who wants a relaxing, laidback vacation.
