“Maine-A Week To Remember!”

Inn Britannia

18 Jul 2008

I have just returned from a week at the apartment at Inn Britannia in Searsport, Maine. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. It was like being in a house. I loved the feeling of being in the sky at night with the many windows. The moonlight was so calming. Susan and Caren are such caring hosts. Breakfast was just delicious and was served in an elegant dinning room. Be sure and purchase an Inn Britannia cookbook. It has all of their delicious recipes in it. Their inn is filled with love and beautiful antiques. They gave me easy directions and suggestions of places to see and eat. Be sure to eat at a lobster pound! The location of the inn is so convenient to many locations in Maine. I just traveled up and down Route 1 and Route 3 for daily trips and back to my home away from home for the night. My many thanks to Susan and Caren for giving me a week of much needed rest and comfort. See you soon- Dawn

“A Relaxing Getaway!”

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway and found it at Inn Britannia. Susan and Caren have such a wonderful place...beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, tasty breakfasts, and friendly pets! We were close enough to Acadia National Park to spend the day there and then come back to enjoy Susan & Caren's suggestion of great Thai food down the street...Seng Thai was so good! The next day was a bit rainy, so we kept close to "home" (which is how we felt about the inn!) We walked down to the beach and then read books in the Pub room. Gerald and Harry, two of the Inn's cats, came up and spent time with us. It was so cozy! Overall, the trip was exactly what we wanted...a comfortable place to relax together and to get outside to enjoy nature. Susan and Caren's friendliness and Queen Victoria's Pancake were just icing on the cake!

“Absolutely Perfect”

Inn Britannia

15 Jun 2008

Our stay at the Inn Britannia stay was an absolutely perfect slice of Great Britain and as the name "Britannia" implies "A female personification of Great Britain", Caren and Susan have re-created an authentic experience for those who have both visited Great Britain and for those who have not.

From our first encounter with our hosts, my wife and I having arrived late in the evening, we were made to feel very welcome and at home. We were shown our rooms (we had a suite) and were then given a tour of the accommodations. Their home was our home and their hospitality was wonderful.

After a sound night sleep, in our very comfortable room and bed, we woke to the smell of fresh brewing coffee which was wafting through the air and hallways. We rose, got refreshed and then sat in the parlor sipping coffee and soaking in the surrounding decor of early century England. The sun was bright and the flower gardens outside welcomed us as we walked through them, stopping briefly to greet the already busy chickens who had made fresh eggs for us.

Breakfast was served at 8:30 and it was absolutely scrumptious.
Both Caren and Susan are accomplished cooks with recipes from there many travels abroad (they have a recipe book you which we purchased).

There is an ocean access from the Inn within a short walk through the woods which we enjoyed and they told us of many surrounding things to do and see.

We will definitely go back again, and our memory of this authentic slice of Britain will be one we will always cherish.

Sincerely,
Lynn and Joe

“Very accommodating”

Inn Britannia

20 May 2008

Our stay at the Inn was wonderful, Caren and Susan were so accommodating, especially when we just showed up looking for a place to stay, giving them no notice at all. They welcomed us into the Inn and made us feel at home. The Inn is beautiful, breakfast was great and the Inn Keepers were so friendly and helpful. They gave many suggestions on things to do and places to see during our visit to Maine.

“Charming”

Inn Britannia

I just loved the old English ambience of the facility itself including the English style breakfasts, plus the hospitality couldn't have been more gracious.
