We also had a terrible experience at this hotel. My wife picked up a cup to use for brushing her teeth and there was a dried ring of grape juice in the bottom. Maintenance is lacking with burned out light bulbs, etc., the garbage can by the door must not have been dumped in weeks, and we filed about 10 complaints total with Choice Hotels. At the end, to boot, I was charged $1.00 (plus 0.10 tax) for the in-room safe SCAM, and the clerk would not remove the charge from the bill. After my complaints, the owner would not acknowledge calls from Choice Hotels (they appologized to me - good outfit). The cheap swindling filthy manager owes me $1.10! Terrible stay, worse hotel we have seen in 10 years! I suggested that the name Quality Inn be removed. Shut this pig sty down now! Towels were cheap crap from Pakistan - like large hunks of sandpaper. Continental breakfast was pitiful. For comparison, check out my latest review of Comfort Inn in Martinsburg, WV, which I rated very highly. This hotel, on a scale of 1-10, gets a rating of -5 from me.

Very disappointed during our stay during Memorial Day Weekend. Our expectation were not high, just looking for a clean place to sleep. When we checked in late at night, we discovered that the bath area still had wet towels hanging inside, along with an open bar of soap. Not very pleasant.
Next morning, as we were leaving our room at 10 AM, I asked the cleaning person, who was in the hallway about to clean another roon, to also arrange our room. She stated that she was went by our room a few minutes and we had the "do not disturb" sign. She stated that she has too much work left to do and if she had time she would clean the room. We stayed on the 4th floor (the building only has 4 floors). It took the elevator 7 minutes to come up to our floor (this occured twice). When we returned later that day, guess what, our room was in the same state as we left it. Given that it was our last night there and we were tired, we let it be. Next morning, we went down to the buffet for breakfast. The coffee was fine but as I was attempting to get a bagel, I noticed that the bagels were stale, same with the donuts. My expectations were low, but not this low. I typically do not write my experiences (I usually spend ~45-60 day in all types of hotels per year) but this time I wanted to warn others. Simply unacceptable.

This hotel is full of Old world charm, and hospitality that is rare to come by. The hotel is extremely clean since its major renovation, the breakfast was fast and full, and the the staff and management are very welcoming. I would recommend this establishment to anyone!!! Four stars
