We spent our (all too brief) honeymoon at Beechwood Inn, a wonderful cozy B&B in cape cod, and absolutely loved it!
The owners, Ken and Debbie, are very hospitable and great to converse with. They have a fascinating background in the corporate world, and currently breed dogs (golden retrievers) in addition to running the B&B. So we spent a good part of the first morning conversing about cross-cultural consultancy work as well as getting some valuable free advice from our canine-experts, all over a delicious 3-course breakfast (freshly baked muffins, melons, and a cinnamon-apple crepe) before setting off to explore cape cod.
There's all kinds of things to do on the cape (museums, theatres, great restaurants...), and we really enjoyed our time in the very romantic Lilac Room. For $150 a night you can't get a better deal!
One down-side to the place is that the dining room is really small (though our bedroom was perfect), and was really crowded on the second morning. Also, the breakfast on both mornings we were there was sweet (we would have preferred starting the day with something savory).
Nonetheless, we highly recommend it, and we're definitely going back there again!
