My husband and I needed a one night stay on Cape Cod on Sunday 09/23/07 to be able to attend a funeral the next day. After seeing the good reviews here I decided to book it. Since I selected the "Run of House" lowest priced room, I booked on the resorts website as it was only a few dollars more than Expedia, Orbitz, etc. This way I was able to use the comment section of the reservation request to ask for a king room in the hotel part of the resort as was suggested by previous tripadvisor reviews.

The hotels mansion is gorgeous and the grounds and facilities fabulous. I appreciated the review I read suggesting we stay at the hotel part of the resort. We accidentally turned into the road which includes the Villas near the golf course are they are pretty far away,(drive or shuttle). It was just a five minute walk to the private bayside beach where Ocean Edge provided really comfy beach chairs and towels. It was a perfect setting to enjoy a late summer sunset.

Our king room was very spacious and immaculate. I loved the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries, in room safe, extra blankets and pillows in the room, and large closet. The indoor pool was housed in the same building and it was only a quick walk to the on site restaurant and pub.

We ate at the pub and the food was very good if not slightly pricy. This was in our estimation a good tradeoff to not have to leave the resort. I would highly recommend the resort for romantic getaways to large conventions. the staff is responsive and accomodating. We will definitely go back for a awesome getaway weekend or vacation

We stayed in the Britterige Village, Nauset Villa - our 1 bedroom suite was very nice and looked like it had just recently been renovated. The suite included a living area with tv, kitchen with stovetop, fridge/freezer, and microwave, and bedroom with another tv. There was also a stacked washer/dryer - which is always convenient for the beach. The wifi worked very well in the room and the living room had a nice plasma tv mounted to the wall. Our only compliant is that we stayed just after Labor Day and many of the amenities were already closed -- two of the pools (including the one within walking distance), all the food/drink service for the pools and beach, and the closest restaurant. We didn't really mind having to drive to the pool (it wasn't crowded at all) but we would have really liked a drink to beat the blazing sun.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our 28th wedding anniversary. I have to agree with the mixed reviews here.

The mansion part of the complex is absolutely beautiful as well as the grounds, which are impeccably manicured. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful.

We were given a ground floor unit in the Arbor Village, but when we opened the door...a moldy, yet bleachy smell was overwhelming. A humidifier was on in the room, so we realized there were obvious water issues here.

Since I suffer with allergies to mold (and bleach) I couldn't stay in this unit. Luckily, we were able to switch to another one in the same village complex. It appears that the numbers in the 50's are below ground level and this might be the reason for the water issues? We stayed on a second story unit in the 30's and this was better.

I was pleased with the way the problem was handled, especially since the hotel was quite booked, with several large events going on.

The units seemed clean, however a little tired. A bathroom tile fell of the wall into the tub when my husband was taking a shower.

Several of the cups in the cabinet of the kitchenette were dirty, so I would recommend a VERY good cleaning if you're going to use any of the utencils or glassware.

From the name of resort, Ocean Edge, one might think there would be at least a glimpse of the water. However, the ocean is nowhere in sight.

If a water view is important to you, read the description of each unit carefully as I'm sure there are units somewhere with water views. However, most of "villages" are located down the road, across the street and miles away from the water....as well as the front desk, main restaurant and bar.

The complex is massive and having to drive everywhere gets tiresome as well as confusing.

Our stay at this hotel was okay, not horrible, just nothing to rave about.

    • Liked — Nothing really stands out except the grounds were quite lovely.
    • Disliked — Way too large of a complex. There are water/mold issues in some of the rooms.

“A great Cape resort - stay in the hotel not the villas”

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club

Am surprised to see some of the poor reviews for Ocean Edge. We stayed for 3 nights in August and really liked the place. Based on Tripadvisors advice we stayed in the main hotel on the Bay Side(East Wing) - not the villas near the golf course . I think it was an upgraded room as fire plan showed it as larger than most others. The room was great - huge with a sitting area (although no TV in that area), a large dressing area with wet bar (but no fridge which was a shame) and lots of wardrobe space and large bathroom. Everywhere was spotless and fresh. Only disappointment was that we were on ground floor with a terrace overlooking the car park
The main hotel is definitely the best location - 2 minute walk to restaurants, pool, swimming (indoor pool with huge spa pool and outdoor pool - although not enough sun loungers at the outdoor pool) and the beach. There is a private beach but its fairly small and there is a lot of seaweed and its quite pebbly at the edge of the sea (bring flip flops) but it was fine. My son loved the hermit crabs which were all over the beach as the tide went out! Plenty of chairs, towels and parasols - all free. Nice tavern but food was not that great and fairly pricey. Brewster is a very pretty Cape village

“BEST PLACE ON CAPE COD”

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club

My stay at The Ocean Edge Resort and Club was the best vacation I've experienced in years. Not only are the grounds spectacular, the staff are all terrific from upper management to housekeeping. Everyone I encountered while on the vast property were both knowledgeable and extremely friendly. My stay was in the Bay Pines Village but viewed all the grounds and can honestly say that I cant imagine there are any less than great accomodations. Whatever my question or need it was met with enthusiasm. The Mansion is georgeous, like stepping back to a grander time. The private beach and path leading to it were well kept and just beautiful and quaint. The Brewster flats at low tide are worth the stay alone and don't even get me started on the sunsets. This resort is truly a hidden treasure on Cape Cod.
I recommend this place to anyone who loves to be pampered and loves old world excellence. I cant imagine you could find a better spot on Cape Cod to relax and enjoy. I certainly did and can't wait to go back!!
