I was going to spend a long weekend in 'the honeymoon suite', but shortly before the vacation was scheduled, a big meeting came up at work and I had to cancel. Seeing as it was within the 14-day no-refund period, I agreed with the innkeeper that they should try and rent the room, but if they couldn't, I would keep my reservation rather than lose the downpayment.

A few days before the scheduled stay I spoke to the owner, who said they'd had no luck renting my room, to which I replied, 'okay, I'll keep the reservation then'. So I was surprised when I called on my way down to the Cape and discovered that they had since rented out the room for the two middle nights in my 4-night stay.

I couldn't very well use a Thursday and a Sunday night room for my stay, but the innkeeper refused to discuss a refund of my deposit.

Despite several attempts to reach management to discuss getting back a portion of my down payment, none of my calls have been returned. Thank you Sea Pines for ruining my birthday weekend and getting paid for it in the process.

Our family stayed for 3 nights in 3 different rooms. The rooms were clean and large. It was unseasonably warm during our stay and the air conditioner did not function well (in 2 of the rooms). The bed was a bit uncomfortable for two large people, and sank in the middle.

The Inn Keeper's were very friendly and accommodating. Steve made a mean drink and had a marvelous sense of humor!

It was nice to have a computer set up for ease in checking our emails.

The breakfasts were a bit disappointing, but certainly edible.

Overall, I would recommend this Inn and would probably stay here again.

“Home Away From Home”

Old Sea Pines Inn

We have been staying at the Old Sea Pines Inn for over 10 years and feel like part of the family. The owners, Steve & Michele Rowan, and their staff have always provided wonderful service and have created a very pleasant atmosphere. The antique-filled rooms are very clean and comfortable. The front porch is a favorite gathering place in the warm seasons, while the living room fireplace provides the backdrop for warmth and pleasant interaction with friends and other guests. We highly recommend this lovely Inn, the best on Cape Cod!!

“Great location, great value”

Old Sea Pines Inn

15 Aug 2007

Old Sea Pines is exactly what we were thinking about when we decided to stay at mostly B&B's. This B&B has a seperate building that they manage and if I recall correctly also a seperate vacation house available for rent. We could easily walk to several restaurants and shops. There was a very nice exclusive restaurant very nearby (reservations recommended).

Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of pastries, eggs, sausage, juice. Seating was plentiful in many areas both inside and out.

Great location in the middle of Cape Cod. Short drive to Province Town.

Recommended.

“Think Twice”

Old Sea Pines Inn

Hmm...where do I even begin? First, let me tell you that Old Sea Pines is the HoJo's of Inn's. The first night we stayed in the $80 a night rooms (they have a shared bath). I had called ahead and asked about the beds, as I have a bad back and was traveling a long distance in a car. Anywho, we check in to find that the bed they had assured me was in such a great condition wasn't even actually a bed, but a foam mattress. As much as I enjoyed sleeping on the double-wide cot, we upgraded to the next room in the morning, which was $160 a night. Ah yes, the 'new' mattress from the bargain store. Literally, when my boyfriend got up from the bed, I actually popped up. When I complained the following morning, I was told 'well no one else has ever complained, we have excellent bed.". This was a fRiday and we had one more night there. I asked if I could leave, given I was having trouble sleeping in their beds and I was told unless they found a replacement, I would be charged. Given the place was half empty I figured that wouldn't be a likely prospect so I stayed one more night.

That evening we returned at about 10:30, exhausted as we had been out since 10 that morning. We pull into the parking lot to find it full. We walk in and realize there is a wedding reception happening, right below our room. The place isn't exactly sound proof...we go to our room and all we can here is dance music and shouting...I mean it's a wedding party!! I walked back downstairs to let the Innkeepers know how upset I was that we weren't told about this and she said to me "well most people come to the cape and stay out all night'. We had been gone for 12 hours!!! she then wanted to know if we had wanted to go to sleep. Ah yes, we did! You couldn't even read a book it was so loud. I got very irate and told her that it was unacceptable we weren't privy to this information before we rented the room, let alone when I had spoke with them that morning. She was so rude and disrespectful, I can't believe they are in business. The music stopped at 11 and then they moved furniture for the next hour. It was another sleepless night at the Old Sea Pines Inn.

But let me move on. The breakfast: Think a Howard Johnson's continental. yes, they do advertise hot food but I'm usually not lining up for a trough of eggs that have been sitting over a bunson burner. The Inn is clean, I’ll give it that and looks kind of cute…until you start to notice the details. It felt like corners were being cut everywhere from the scratchy towels, cumberland farm english muffins, fake maple syrup, to the vinyl shades and polyester blankets.

Do yourself a favor and stay at a different spot. At the very least, make sure there are not any wedding parties planned. If you are operating as a B&B and you can't get the bed right and your breakfast really stinks...then maybe you're in the wrong business.
