The Chatham Bars Inn is one of those rare New England coastal hotels that goes the distance. We stayed in one of the cottages, and the rooms were very luxurious. The main inn is a gorgeous old building with a fantastic restaurant. The food is some of the best in Chatham, if not that part of the cape. It has a nice living room with afternoon tea which is a great place to relax in. We had an overall great experience, and the service is top-notch. There is nothing that they won't do to make your stay more enjoyable.
We have been at Chatham Bars several times for work-related conferences, and decided to come back for a romantic weekend away. Food, service, and amenities were all excellent as usual. We did have a problem with our room - the gas fireplace did not work, nor did the enormous LCD tv in the bedroom. I mentioned this to the front desk but neither problem was fixed over our two-night stay. We didn't make a big issue of it, but I was a little annoyed that the hotel staff made no effort to accommodate us or even communicate about whether either problem would be fixed before we left. I was pretty surprised that a hotel of this quality would put guests up in a room with a broken TV.

We have always wanted to stay at CBI but like so many other reviewers the rates were just too high in the summer. Got a great deal through Travelzoo. The staff were extremely nice and accomodating, even letting us check out super late because of a conference call my husband needed to be on. We also used the spa which was very nice and relaxing. Would definitely return (but will have to wait for another deal!!)

We got in a little nervous since it was past midnight when we finally arrived after a 5 hr drive from NYC. I was wondering if there would be anybody available at the front desk at 1am in the morning. To my surprise the main inn was huge and very well lit.
We checked in with no problems, our room was beautiful, we had direct ocean view ( i had emailed before our arrival for an ocean view room and they did really give us one!). Everything was neat, even the electronics were quality - bose radio, flat screen tv etc.
We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Staff was friendly, rooms were spacious. We had room service every morning, waffles were golden crisp.. Last night we went to the main in, it was pretty cold outside being early March, different groups of people were playing card games, reading newspapers in the lounge area.. We walked in and played cards for 4 hours in front of the fireplace, the feeling was very cozy.. I read from reviews that in the summer it gets twice as expensive and ten times as crowded so definitely check it out in March and enjoy the tranquility..
