We just returned home from our yearly visit to the Cape. I have stayed at here at least a dozen or so times. The front desk staff is friendly but it is true that you are left to really do your own research on where and what to do. I recommend the visitor center down the street. The dining staff (we do breakfast at the hotel) is also good but I am not pleased with housekeeping and feel it has gone downhill especially the last 2-3 years despite the renovations that have been done. Come armed with windex and paper towells if you are expecting what you paid for. Annoyed since it should be Sheraton standards but besides a little clean up needed the rooms are quite nice.
We used to stay in the pool side rooms thinking it was more fun for the kids. Nope, did the other rooms this year and they are much bigger. If you do not mind a quick walk up a short staircase request upstairs as you will not get parking lot noise although it really is quite quiet. Also fits a cot comfortably in that room if you need.
The indoor pool is nice but there are no lifeguards and nobody from the hotel ever seems to chk in. It is a little upsetting to see 4 and 5 year olds hanging out for lengthy periods of time in the adult only hot tub, but personally that only concerns me for safety reasons. There are signs giving the pool rules but since the staff forgets there is anyone there alot of parents don't care.
The buffet breakfast is a great way to start the day and will take you strait through lunch, has a small but great workout room and an arcade right next to it.
Great location to everywhere!
