We have just returned from 3 nights at Fort Hill. What a delightful stop it was. Jean & Gordon were so friendly and helpful to us, recommending restaurants and places of interest. We stayed in EMMA which is a super room with its own spacious sitting room.Breakfasts were delicious and we have no complaints whatsoever. There are many walks close by and the coastline here is so interesting.
We would not hesitate in returning here.

My Husband and I just spent two nights in the Nantucket Cottage at the Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast and we had a lovely time. Well furnished with quality furniture, great books and original artwork, it was easy to find , and yet secluded and private. The cottage is two story with a bedroom upstairs and the living room (with cozy gas fireplace), bath and small kitchenette downstairs.

One of the best things about the Fort Hill is its prime location within the Cape Cod National Seashore. There are very accessible trails right up the road, there are many beaches a short drive away, just minutes to the town of Orleans where there are some fine restaurants as well as casual eating spots.

The gracious hosts, Jean and Gordon Avery, were very helpful in suggesting dining spots and knew just what would suit us. A hearty delicious breakfast was served in our room. We highly recommend a stay here!

We just spent an amazing weekend at the very inviting Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast. The innkeepers were so accomodating, giving us plenty of information about the area, arranging a massage at a local spa and encouraging us to attend an excellent performance by Vance Gilbert at a nearby coffee house. Not only were we given a fabulous breakfast each morning, but we were greeted with such genuine warmth and hospitality. We stayed in the spacious and beautifully decorated Emma Suite which touts its own library/sitting area. The comfortable queen size canopy bed and large bathroom made it a real treat. It was so easy to relax when sitting by the fireplace in the adjacent guest living room. This B & B is certainly a true value for the level of accomodations, privacy and service. All of this along with the fantastic location will entice us to return to the Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast again and again.

SEPT.19--- FORT HILL BED AND BREAKFAST-- We just returned from the most enjoyable mini vacation we have had in a long time. This B&B is a hidden treasure that looks out over the marshes to the Atlantic Ocean. The hosts,Gordon and Jean Avery provided warm hospitality, gourmet breafasts and stimulating conversation. They were also very helpful with info on places to see and places to eat.. Cape Cod was wonderful and Fort Hill B&B played a large roll in making it that way. What a wonderful place to come back to every night after exploring the Cape all day or just relaxing at one of the nearby beaches. The location inside the Cape Cod National Seashore and its proximity to walking trails, biking trails and beaches sets Fort Hill B&B apart from all others.. We stayed four nights in the Nantucket cottage and lt felt like we were in our own private New England hide away. The private gardens and the view of the ocean made it feel like home.Would we come back again? You Bet!

In September, we spent a week at this exceptional B & B, and we will return again and again. The location was unparalleled - in a historic district, across from a magnificently-preserved sea captain's home, a stroll from spectacular views of Nauset Marsh and Cape Cod Bay. The entire area is closed to traffic after midnight. We stayed in the spacious yet cozy cottage - the ideal, romantic getaway for a couple. The cathedral-ceilinged living room had a big comfortable sofa that faced a gas-burning stove(great for cool nights in the fall), a small kitchen with sink, refrigerator, toaster, and microwave, and one charming bedroom upstairs with a very comfortable bed. The cottage was beautifully designed and furnished, and included an excellent collection of books (not the usual yard-sale types you normally find). The hosts were genuine, welcoming, and warm. And, those gourmet breakfasts - simply fabulous!
