I gave this a '2-dot' rating because it's not altogether bad- for some people it could really be a totally fine accomodation. My husband didn't mind it, but he didn't like it. And I, just plain hated it. We chose it over some of the others in the area that go for the same nightly rate simply based on the photos and the website. We reserved for 2 nights in a pool-view room. I don't know what the difference is between pool view/beach view. Every room pretty much faces a parking lot and nothing else. The 'beach' is a sad looking volleyball net on sand, and the pool was fine, I suppose but we didn't go near it. Anyway, the motel was completely obviously empty when we arrived around 1:30. The woman (owner, maybe?) hemmed/hawed about letting us check in prior to check in time. Ultimately, she did let us. We walked into a huge room- very large- 2 double beds- that was so completely ugly and depressing- nothing at all like the photos on the website. There was one crooked picture frame, no closet, a grody brown carpet and awful bed spreads. I killed at least 4 bugs while in the room. It was just so so so dank and I couldn't imagine spending 2 nights there. I also didn't feel safe leaving our belongings in the room while we were out sightseeing/beaching. So, I spent loads of time on hold trying my darndest to get into another hotel, and we left the next morning. The 'continental breakfast' is nothing whatsoever to write home about. I'm not at all picky, nor am I a chronic complainer, but dried up bagels and grainy juice is not my idea of breakfast. The ONLY plus that I absolutely must point out is the lovely young girl who works at the front desk- she was the one whom I reserved with, and she was there at check-in and check-out. She's so polite, so sweet, so friendly and really, really helpful. Thumbs up for her, thumbs down for everything else!
