We stayed at the Clarion during the summer of 2002. It is in a good location on the main road into Edgartown, and you can easily walk to the center of town in about 10 minutes.The hotel itself is very average. We had a large room overlooking the parking lot. The room was okay, but we had requested a non-smoking room and were told they were all booked. The hotel is back off the street, so it was quiet. The continental breakfast was average. There is also a restaurant on the property (we didn't eat there).If you're not planning to do more than sleep in your room, this is an okay place for the money.
