This B & B is home-away-from-home. There is nothing lacking to make your stay beyond your highest expectations. From the gourmet breakfasts (and stocked refrigerator for refreshments all day) to the beach towels already folded in a tote to go, you could not want for more. The inn was immaculate in our room as well as in the common areas. We loved the resident dog & cat - very well behaved - and kept us from missing our own dogs at home. Jan & Howard excel at B & B heaven!

We spent the thrid week of August at the Inn on the Sound, and it was just excellent.
The location with it's views of the Sound, and Marth's Vineyard, are great. It has a small beach directly across the road from the Inn, and is only 20-25 mimnutes walk into the beautiful village of Falmouth.
The rooms are spotless, with all the facilities you need, coffee and cookies are always available, and the breakfasts are a wonderful shared event.
But, best of all are the hosts Howard, and Janet. They make you so welcome, are so open, and always around to help, or discuss whatever you feel like discussing.
So, if you are looking for great location, spotless accomodation, warm friendly hosts, then Inn on the Sound is for you.

Immaculate. That was our first impression of the Inn on the Sound. And that was before we even had seen our beautiful room. Yes, all the other reviews are correct: Jan and Howard are exceedingly hospitable innkeepers--a breed apart. No request was beyond them. They treated us like family, even asking us to take drinks "for the road." What gentility and kindness. The guests at this inn were interesting and respectful; the property is quiet, so you can nap or sleep any time without being disturbed. Our room had air-conditioning, and it did come in handy. You can find great views of Nantucket Sound many places, but you'll not find a lovelier or more inviting property than the Inn on the Sound.

Inn on the Sound is probably the best B&B we have stayed in. The B&B generally and our room in particular was well and tastefully furnished with excellent views of the Sound and Martha's Vineyard and immaculately clean. The service and breakfasts were stunningly good. Janet & Howard were excellent hosts, doing whatever they could to help. In addition to fruit and delicious biscotti, complimentary drinks (coke, water, juices etc), were available together with a "to die for" cake. The ambience of the Inn is very relaxing with a wonderfully diverse and friendly group of people staying there. In short, it is not possible to overstate how good this place is!
