GOOD HARBOR IS THE BEST, it is consdierablly expensive to park, but i pay anyway because i love it there. If your looking for waves, you'll find them there. There is always a ton of people there during the summer. COnsession stand isnt anything fabulous so i suggest bringing lunch and lots of water. Walk to parking lot to beach is nothing. Go early in the morning or you wont get a spot...depends what kind of day it is. Umm...ive taken great walks on good harbor beach, good excersise. During off season sept-april i bring my dog and am always amazed to see how many other people bring their dogs also. Not rocky, soft sand, hermit crabs! no sharks haha watch out for us boogie boarders, you'll always see us in the water. After 4 surfers always show, lots of fun, COME ON DOWN!!

On a beautiful Sunday summer afternoon at about 12:30 we couldn't get in because the parking was full. So go early. This is just for your information, not a review. The place did look beautiful, and crowded.

Just like the old fashioned paintings of the "shore"! Old sea captain's homes on one side, summer cottages come year round places on the other. Good Harbor beach is wonderful. A deep beach when the tide is low, offering many tide pools for little ones to play in. And when the tide comes in, the surf is cold but fun to play in too! The water is unusually clean and crystal clear...although one year, I was disappointed to find many of the trash receptacles had been removed from the beach and trash was laying all around.
Parking is pricey, $20/day last time I went, and the lot fills up quickly, so get there early. If you're willing to walk, you can park up by the golf course, usually in the shade, for free (only about a 5 minute walk).
My favorite time of day is late in the afternoon, when many are heading home. The sun is still warm and you can lounge in the sand or in the surf, and the kids can play in all the deep holes that have been dug throughout the day. I highly recommend Good Harbor Beach!

I go here at least twice a week durin the summer with all of my friends to play football on the sand and enjoy the sun and nice cool water. I also like the island you can go to when it is low tide, or when it is high tide just swin there

“Good Harbor Beach or Bust!”

If you are looking for a relaxing day at the shore - Good Harbor Beach is just what the Doctor ordered! From the white sand to the beautiful emerald green surt - this is definately one of New England's best kept secrets - a diamond in the rough (literally - the beach is a nesseled along the rugged coast of Cape Ann between Gloucester and Rockport, MA ). Beach-goers will enjoy hours of sunbathing on powder white sand, swimming in crystal clear water and for those looking for a mini-adventure, a sandbar connects the beach to a rocky island perfect for exploring! One must check this beach out for themselves to really appreciate it's true beauty.
