Lane's Cove House was our last 2 nights after a "road trip" from Boston to Maine and back; first week of May. It was the perfect way to complete our vacation. Anna, the owner, has cultivated a beautiful, comfortable, gracious and inviting place to stay. Anna is friendly and professional and we enjoyed talking with her. She makes delicious scones anyway you want them, along with great coffee, and a hardy continental breakfast. All the rooms are lovely in antiques, oriental carpets, comfy beds with great pillows and designer sheets. Nothing too frou-frou, but very stylish. The bathroom had extra towels, bathrobes, lots of extra ammenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton balls, lotions, the works). Our room overlooked the street which was in a charming, quiet residential neighborhood. On the top floor the guestrooms have an adjoining sitting room with books, games, fridge, tea, sodas and water. It's like a separate apartment over Anna's home. And downstairs she had a lovely living room and deck overlooking Lane's Cove. The cove is easy to walk down to. There's a great lobster/fish "shack" just about a mile down the road for great seafood, sunsets and you can bring in your own wine (no corkage fee).
A very memorable stay, phenomenal sunsets, and now I'm hooked on B&B's!
