Isn't Anna fantastic! A real gem this, discovered on Trip Advisor.and Her B&B delivers 5* treatment and just the right level of eccentricity in the host.. We stayed there an extra night we enjoyed the place so much. It is an ideal location for a late summer and Fall break - indeed practically any time. Great for lovely long walks on the beach and ready access to the whale watching adventures of Gloucester or short trips up to New Hampshire.

Anna's place was super. A great stepping off location for a road trip through New England to Illinois via the Great Lakes.

Very comfortable rooms and remarkably good breakfasts. The aroma which welcomed us on arrival and at breakfast.was Anna's legendary home baked muffins and scones.

One of the least complimentary quotes in the guest book said "5* accommodation and 10* concierge". This underrated the experience by some margin.

This was also the last two nights of a quick vacation with my wife for our 31st anniverary.

I don't know what to say that hasn't been said, but I wanted to chime in and say that Anna is a wonderful hostess and is very concerned that you feel welcome and comfortable. I am writing this while waiting fro her granola recipe to cook in my oven. If it tastes half as good as hers, I will be happy. Just wished I had asked for the scone recipe

I would highly recommend and probably return myself soon.

We had a wonderful visit to the Lane's Cove House for our first anniversary this weekend. The service was impeccable, BNB was flawless and it was just a great overall experience. If you want a nice relaxing weekend away, this is the place to be. The blue room is perfect, and overlooks the actual Lane's Cove itself. Anna's breakfasts are as wonderful as people have written before - the scones are truly delicious. Spend a day in Rockport if you like to shop, and just enjoy the overall feel of this lovely and quaint BNB.

Lane's Cove House was our last 2 nights after a "road trip" from Boston to Maine and back; first week of May. It was the perfect way to complete our vacation. Anna, the owner, has cultivated a beautiful, comfortable, gracious and inviting place to stay. Anna is friendly and professional and we enjoyed talking with her. She makes delicious scones anyway you want them, along with great coffee, and a hardy continental breakfast. All the rooms are lovely in antiques, oriental carpets, comfy beds with great pillows and designer sheets. Nothing too frou-frou, but very stylish. The bathroom had extra towels, bathrobes, lots of extra ammenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton balls, lotions, the works). Our room overlooked the street which was in a charming, quiet residential neighborhood. On the top floor the guestrooms have an adjoining sitting room with books, games, fridge, tea, sodas and water. It's like a separate apartment over Anna's home. And downstairs she had a lovely living room and deck overlooking Lane's Cove. The cove is easy to walk down to. There's a great lobster/fish "shack" just about a mile down the road for great seafood, sunsets and you can bring in your own wine (no corkage fee).

A very memorable stay, phenomenal sunsets, and now I'm hooked on B&B's!

If you stay here you will be spoiled for going anywhere else. Ever.

The whole Cape feels relatively untouched. In hot summer the sea air is fresh, and if you catch the Nor'Easter it is just unbelievably dramatic (in a being battered by gales while freezing to death because you packed togs for a holiday sort of way). Honorary European roads. Leave your Land Yacht at home and get a squirelly compact instead. There's even a roundabout...

Forget about going anywhere else. You just feel so at home here with Anna, it's easy to come back. Again and again.

The other guests are always so affable. Take your pick between the gawking newbies who haven't got over their find yet, and the comfortably settled veterans. They know it's good, you know it's good, and no more need be said. It's like some sort of secret society.

It will mess up your travelling plans, though. You could travel the highways and byways of the country, sampling the rich variety of experiences on offer, or you could have another scone. No contest.
