We stayed at the Cape Light Guest House on the evening of our anniversary. Upon arriving we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the yard and the front room. The hostess, Julie, met us with bare feet and smoking a cigarette. We were, however, pleasantly surprised to find the guest room to be very nice and cozy.
As we were leaving for our anniversary dinner, my husband mentioned, in passing, that the TV didn't work. When we returned to our room, Julie was in our room trying to fix the TV. She also called in a maintenance worker, Bill, to help. They were in our room for almost an hour. We told Julie it was not a big deal (basically trying to be left by ourselves on our anniversary). She gave us another TV to use but it didn't work either. She offered to move us to another room but we said it was no big deal and we didn't want to change rooms. At this point, she started crying and yelling at us. She told us she was having a meltdown and asked us why we wouldn't just change rooms. She called another Bed and Breakfast trying to get rid of us. We told her we didn't want to leave (it was after 10:00 pm) and we asked her to please just go away. Bill later came in to apologize for her behavior. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced. We left early the next morning without having the Fiber One bar and yogurt that was to be our breakfast.
Julie claimed that her meltdown was our fault because we were accustomed to “4 star” hotels and were too difficult to please. Later on our trip, due to Hurricane Irene, we stayed at a Roadway Inn in Boston (not a 4 star by any means). At the Roadway Inn, we had a great experience.

This couple did stay here- 1 Saturday night. I could not please them- and yes, they made me cry. We just didn't click, it happens. But then they cancelled their payment so they stayed FREE. I did not dispute it thinking that would please them and they still wrote a bad review. I did not ruin their anniversary- the TV broke and WE tried to rectify it, short and simple.
