We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Hyannis for 5 nights in June. I have stayed in other areas on the cape before and this was a very good choice. Not only is it a central location for sightseeing with easy access to the ferry and airport, but the hotel is located in a great area for walking to restaurants and lots of shopping.
The hotel itself was very well maintained. The rooms are basic but spacious enough to be comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have a room with a renovated bathroom that featured the walk-in glass shower. Some of the rooms have the traditional tub/shower situation but this was better- if you are staying at this hotel I would request that shower. Being allergic to cigarette smoke, I requested a non-smoking room. I was a bit concerned when we walked to our room and found that the hallway smelled of smoke. Not to worry! When we entered our room all signs of the smoke were gone. The staff that we dealt with were friendly and helpful.
The only real downside I can see is that the walls seem to be paper-thin. Conversations that seemed to be of normal volume were easily audible at all times, whether coming from other guests or their televisions. This could be a bit distracting and diffucult to deal with, but luckily we travel with a white noise machine so it didn't really affect us too much. I'd say anyone preparing to spend any time at this hotel should certainly invest in earplugs or a sound machine.
Overall, it's a great value for the money and a great location. We will stay there again.

We stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a two week visit to the States. It was very busy as it was Memorial Day weekend so there were a lot of children around and the pool was very busy so I didn't try it out. I would say this is an average family hotel. The room was OK although a little dull due to the small window. We were overlooking the courtyard. The remodelled bathroom was lovely - clean with plenty of towels etc.
As it was our wedding anniversary the hotel gave us complimentary breakfast vouchers and I have to say that the buffet style breakfast was really lovely - with a good choice of hot and cold food. The restaurant staff were very extremely helpful. I would stay there again - my only suggestion would be to refurbish the corridor areas as they are looking a little tired.

We ended up checking in Friday before the memorial day weekend very late. The front desk staff was very nice and efficient and we were in our room in no time. Overall the bathroom was gorgeous, clean and well stocked. The bedroom was on the small side but was very clean and well decorated.
The experience would have been great if it wasn't for the loads of kids running and screaming up and down the hall at night. They were doing this till 11PM which was crazy. As I was about to call the front desk someone came out of their room and told their mother or chaperones that this was not acceptable and that the kids needed to go into their rooms and not run in the hallways banging on doors (it was ridiculous).
The beds were great as were the pillows although the air conditioning system was a bit on the kooky side since it would get either too cold or too warm.
The pool was great and looked well maintained (the hotel is new).

I stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend (having paid quite a bit of $$$) and was told upon check-in that someone had "requested" a smoking room for me. When I complained, they told me tough luck because they had no non-smoking rooms available. The room and hallway smelled worse that most bars. It made me cough. The room was also very small by American standards and had no dvd player. The place was over-run with screaming kids - I would definitely not recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic atmosphere. The indoor pool is rather small and only 5 ft. deep at one end. Lastly, it is really not in walking distance of anything, so there's really no advantage to staying here versus a cheaper hotel in South Yarmouth. I've stayed at nice Holiday Inns in the past, but this one was really disappointing.
