The Pond Room is an exceptionally nice room with a view of the serene and beautiful garden. You can walk down to the waterfront fairly easily, though there is no beach or area meant for sunning or swimming.
The host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included fresh fruit and healthy options that are nice features while on vacation.
We only stayed one night ,so didn't really get a sense of what the local area offered.

“A Great Romantic Getaway”

Fox Pond B&B

23 Jun 2008

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary and were looking for a romantic getaway. Fox Pond had all the elements we were looking for!! From the beautifully landscaped yard to the beautiful Pond Room! The room was amazing, a beautiful view to a private yard, a fireplace, a jacuzzi - it had it all! It was like we had the place to ourselves - it was so quiet and peaceful. It was perfect!

We've stayed at B&B's all over the country, so I can easily say this was one of the most beautiful locations. The home is gorgeous and Ted is very welcoming. You will not go wrong staying in any of the rooms and you will most certainly not be disappointed with the landscape. We highly recommend Fox Pond for your visit to Marblehead. You will not be disappointed!

“Excellent ambiance & value”

Fox Pond B&B

My wife & I visited the Fox Pond B&B in May of 2008. The location is on a quiet tree lined street. Upon arrival, we were met by the owner - Ted & his dog - Sophie. We were provided with a tour of the property, something to drink, & shown our room. The property is magnificently maintained and the back yard is a beautiful garden where you can sit & drink a cup of coffee, tea, or wine & just enjoy the professionally landscaped view. A tasty & filling breakfast is included & it varied from day to day. Yogurt and fresh fruit were available every morning along with a main course. Lunch & dinner are not provided, but Ted can provide you with excellent options on restaurants depending on your tastes.

You may visit with Ted & Sophie as much or as little as you like. Ted is a charming and outgoing host, who will invite you into the residence, offer to put a log in the fireplace, & offer you wine. He allowed us to park our car in the garage while we were there. The location was perfect for the north shore, with easy access to Salem, Swampscott, etc. We found the price to be reasonable & & an excellent value. With the cost of gas, the location allowed us to stay close to our family. The rooms are bright & the beds are comfortable. Ted remodeled the original residence & transformed it into an architectural delight. The Pond room has a sitting area, deluxe bathroom, & a view of the formal back garden, where you can sit & read, enjoy something to drink, or just enjoy the views.

The price of the rooms was cheaper than staying at a Marriott & offered better ammenities. We will definitely return.

We were expecting quaint and cozy. We experienced both and found a beautifully designed rock, water, plants and walkways. I was amazed at the variety of flowers and plants. Knowing that the ocean is down the path and nestled in the neighborhoods of Marblehead, was a treat. We will return when possible and have shared our find with other friends and family. The other visitors were nice and our breakfast was filling... very filling. Ted is a great host and an interesting artist with his building and gardening skills. The room and bath were very clean and comfortable. It was a brush of paradise.
