The Blackinton Manor was our last stop on a 10-day trip through New England, staying at B&Bs and inns except for 2 nights in Boston. It was a charming respite for two tired travelers. We stayed in the bedroom on the first floor and were the only guests that weekend, so it was very private and peaceful. We were very grateful that we didn't have to haul our luggage up several flights of stairs as we had at some other otherwise-lovely old homes or inns. The mansion has been tastefully restored with antiques and reproductions, and updated for comfort and convenience. The bathroom, which was large, sunny and spotless was also fully modernized with a double, jetted tub and wall heater. The bedroom was unusually large for homes of that vintage, and featured a wonderfully comfortable bed with sumptuous bedding. We appreciated the care and taste that had obviously gone into selecting decor, and the high quality of the renovation work. The continental breakfast was pretty light, but this was a good thing, since we had eaten so much earlier in our trip. The helpful owner gave us good information about dining establishments and local attractions as well as driving times and routes to other towns and Albany airport. We were very pleased with our experience and would certainly recommend Blackinton Manor.
