The windows are sealed due to a North Adams ordinance. The air inside the room is stale and just recirculates all of the polish, etc. used in there.The air conditioner is VERY noisy as it goes on and off. Fan is insufficient (blows into the curtains) Glasses are plastic as in third rate motels. The staff was very cooperative in letting us leave with no financial penalty (reservation was for 3 nights). The town of North Adams (not the fault of the hotel, of course) is in terrible decline with blocks of empty stores, few restaurants, etc. A most unpleasant experience! Stay somewhere else!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn to visit Mass. college of liberal arts. When I got there i was greeted by a very frendly from desk representitive. He was able to answer all of my questions about the area and directed me to the location of the college.

My room at the hotel over looked the town, which at night glowed from the lights on the trees. The surrounding mountains in the area gave north adams a very tranquil atmostphere. An hour after i got to my room i got a call from the front desk welcoming me to the hotel. I took this as a very nice gesture, which made me feel even more at home, when i was really 150 miles away.

I would highly recommend the holiday inn for a college visit or a weekend away. I had a great time!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in North Adams for two nights. We ate in the restaurant twice. First for dinner. We walked in around 7:30. There were about 4 full tables in a restaurant of about 25. We were seated pretty quickly. Then it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come over to ask for our drink orders. We ordered dinner right away and then our salads took another 20 minutes. There were 4 other tables! We only had the waitress' attention when we flagged her down. At one point I had to stand up and wave to her. Our room came with free breakfast so we decided to try the restaurant again the next morning. Our breakfast experience was equally dismal. We waited at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. (There were hardly any customers there!) Pretty standard breakfast buffet. The food was okay but the place was a mess. It's like they never heard of cleaning a table. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed or just poorly staffed. We complained at the hotel desk but they said that the restaurant is owned by a different company and they have nothing to do with it. Stay at the Holiday Inn if you're in North Adams but skip the restaurant!

Stayed here for one night with my husband and two teenagers on a college visit. Front desk was very helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations. Hotel is a bit worn and it seems partially rented out to offices. Our room had been renovated, but as part of the renovation they removed the sink outside the bathroom so there is just a little alcove and a full length mirror. Not sure why they did this. It is an awkward space. Bathroom is also a bit worn.
