My partner and I stayed at the White Porch Inn from June 13-17. I have stayed at a number of B&Bs and Inns in Ptown and this was by far one of the best. The property was just entirely renovated a year ago and that is something that stands out. The public spaces are comfortable and truly beautiful. You feel like you are in someone's home (who has very good taste.) But, the best part of all are the rooms and baths. We stayed in the Race Point room, which had a king bed and a jacuzzi tub. The mattress was firm, which we like. The bedding (sheets, comforters and pillows) were all high quality. The bath was nicely appointed and the jacuzzi tub actually provides you with a jucuzzi experience unlike most you try.

Each morning, there are fresh baked muffins, cereal, juice, breads, hard boiled eggs and also something hot (pancakes was served one morning.) In the afternoon, there is happy hour on the porch, featuring a good selection of wines.

The location is right in the middle of town, equidistant from both the east and west end. We usually stay in the West End but tried this location and found it to be very good. We had easy access to the galleries as well as to the nightlife in the West End. Besides, with a bike in Ptown, nothing is very far away.

I would highly recommend the White Porch Inn. It is small yet high end, and very quiet. The owners Thomas and Tom make you feel right at home and their staff is always there to help you with what you need.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the White Porch Inn in early June. It was recently completely remodeled and was extremely clean and in a great location to walk down Commercial Street (the main shopping area), to the beach and pier - all as close as you would want to be. Lots of restaurants, shopping and yes, interesting people. The room initially felt small, but in fairness is was a very nice room, well appointed, and had enough storage and space that it was really comfortable - and all new and very clean.

“High priced inn without the P-town charm”

White Porch Inn

We stayed at the White Porch Inn in October. We are always trying new places in Provincetown. The inn is very pretty and well decorated. When we arrived we were taken to our room which was the smallest at the Inn. What we found was smaller than anything we could have anticipated. There was not a closet or dresser for our clothes. There wasn't anyplace to hang up jackets, pants etc. We had a couple of drawers under the bed for our things. The bathroom was tiny as well. This was unfortunate because we really did want to spend any time in our room but couldn't because there was no place to sit but on the bed. Our room door also opened up directly onto a street which you could literally reach out and touch passer-bys! One night we wanted to make drinks so we went to the main house only to find the kitchen locked up. This isn't characteristic for places that I have stayed in the past. We did find two glasses but had to make a phone call to get ice. He did bring it to our room but we had no place to set the bucket. Breakfast was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary.
One evening we wanted to hang out with some new friends in the living room but were told we couldn't stay there because it needed to be quiet. This was a very strange experience. I didn't get the feel of a warm, friendly environment. Instead it felt like a place where they wanted to make a lot of money and not offer comfortable ammenities. If I could have left and received a refund I would have never unpacked. I think other people enjoyed it there but some of their rooms were bigger and much more expensive. There are MANY other places in Provincetown to stay at that offer as nice of a property and incredible service. Look around.

It was freezing and rainy in Cape Cod- when we arrived - but the welcome in The White Porch Inn made up for a lot. The owners were really helpful and chatty: I only wish I was as outgoing at 9 in the morning. We stayed in the Carriage House - it was like having your own little house. The furnishings & decor were a delight - no Victoriana in sight. A lovely comfy soft bed and duvet. In fact the whole B&B was a house I could happily live in permanently.
The B&B is central for the town and the East End with some great restaurants around. And if you go to P-town - do go on a whaling trip. We saw lots of whales and learnt lots.
