We chose a 5 night stay at the Crowne Point Historic Inn & Spa to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We chose it based on other reviews on tripadvisor, the inn's fabulous website, and general word-of-mouth from a few friends local to the Cape. To say we were pleased is an understatement. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed graciously with wonderful hospitality. The inn consists of several houses/buildings all joined together by beautiful garden walkways. There is a small pool and hottubs in the main deck area off the main building. In hindsight I wish I would have requested a tour of some of the other rooms, just to get an idea / comparison. Our room was the "Pamper Me Three Times" and included a fireplace, king sized bed, and jetted tub. We found the accomodations to be quite lovely, very relaxing and romantic. To some the room may be deemed a little small--but it more than suited our needs and provided a comfy setting for our "2nd honeymoon" :) The room had a mini-refrigerator in a cabinet which was very nice for keeping some water/light snacks on hand. There were a fine selection of wines and glasses on the mini-bar. Housekeeping came twice a day, once for the morning cleanup/fresh towels, and then a turn down service at the end of the day. At that visit classical music would be turned on so that when we arrived back in the room it was to a warm and inviting space. Seriously, that little touch was one of my favorite things! The chocolates on the pillow were a great touch too! Each morning we were greeted warmly and treated to a nice assortment of continental breakfast fare in addition to a hot cooked special of the day. It was a treat to see what would be served! My favorite was a toss-up between the Sweet Potato Pancakes (divine!!) and the French Toast Caserole. The inn holds a cocktail hour each late afternoon/early evening which, unfortunately for us, we missed each day. A few times we were out sightseeing or shopping, and a few of the times we slept right through it. What a treat to be napping in the late afternoon hours! (the ambience of the fireplace helped!!) The Spa onsite was a real treat! We purchased a spa/dining package directly from the inn that gave me 2 spa treatments and allowed my husband and I to dine one night at the restaurant "Bistro." (main dining room) This was amazing!!! I chose a massage and facial and each was magnificent. After the treatments I enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in the main area/lower level of the spa--luxury!! There is a soaking pool and a sauna and steam room as well. The dinner at Bistro was to die for, one of our best meals of the trip. (lobster ravioli for him, grilled tile-fish for me) The waitstaff were very, very attentive, coming back to pour our wine from the bottle, and making sure our meals were to our liking. The lights were dim and the setting was just very intimate and lovely. One of the reasons we liked the location of this inn was its proximity to shopping, dining, etc. In just a few moments and footsteps you're in the center of town or on the harbor pier. Since we were traveling during the off-season we did find many local businesses/restaurants closed, but the ones that were open were just wonderful. Commercial Street (the main street) is full of wonderful sights and sounds, shops, eateries, and all of it is so close to the inn. We couldn't be more thrilled with our experience at Crowne Pointe and we hope to return there for another trip of luxury and relaxation!
