We chose a 5 night stay at the Crowne Point Historic Inn & Spa to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We chose it based on other reviews on tripadvisor, the inn's fabulous website, and general word-of-mouth from a few friends local to the Cape. To say we were pleased is an understatement. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed graciously with wonderful hospitality. The inn consists of several houses/buildings all joined together by beautiful garden walkways. There is a small pool and hottubs in the main deck area off the main building. In hindsight I wish I would have requested a tour of some of the other rooms, just to get an idea / comparison. Our room was the "Pamper Me Three Times" and included a fireplace, king sized bed, and jetted tub. We found the accomodations to be quite lovely, very relaxing and romantic. To some the room may be deemed a little small--but it more than suited our needs and provided a comfy setting for our "2nd honeymoon" :) The room had a mini-refrigerator in a cabinet which was very nice for keeping some water/light snacks on hand. There were a fine selection of wines and glasses on the mini-bar. Housekeeping came twice a day, once for the morning cleanup/fresh towels, and then a turn down service at the end of the day. At that visit classical music would be turned on so that when we arrived back in the room it was to a warm and inviting space. Seriously, that little touch was one of my favorite things! The chocolates on the pillow were a great touch too! Each morning we were greeted warmly and treated to a nice assortment of continental breakfast fare in addition to a hot cooked special of the day. It was a treat to see what would be served! My favorite was a toss-up between the Sweet Potato Pancakes (divine!!) and the French Toast Caserole. The inn holds a cocktail hour each late afternoon/early evening which, unfortunately for us, we missed each day. A few times we were out sightseeing or shopping, and a few of the times we slept right through it. What a treat to be napping in the late afternoon hours! (the ambience of the fireplace helped!!) The Spa onsite was a real treat! We purchased a spa/dining package directly from the inn that gave me 2 spa treatments and allowed my husband and I to dine one night at the restaurant "Bistro." (main dining room) This was amazing!!! I chose a massage and facial and each was magnificent. After the treatments I enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in the main area/lower level of the spa--luxury!! There is a soaking pool and a sauna and steam room as well. The dinner at Bistro was to die for, one of our best meals of the trip. (lobster ravioli for him, grilled tile-fish for me) The waitstaff were very, very attentive, coming back to pour our wine from the bottle, and making sure our meals were to our liking. The lights were dim and the setting was just very intimate and lovely. One of the reasons we liked the location of this inn was its proximity to shopping, dining, etc. In just a few moments and footsteps you're in the center of town or on the harbor pier. Since we were traveling during the off-season we did find many local businesses/restaurants closed, but the ones that were open were just wonderful. Commercial Street (the main street) is full of wonderful sights and sounds, shops, eateries, and all of it is so close to the inn. We couldn't be more thrilled with our experience at Crowne Pointe and we hope to return there for another trip of luxury and relaxation!

Even though we stayed during the "shoulder" season I can't imagine the staff at The Crowne Pointe being any different during the busiest weekend of the year. Every morning we were greeted by John who would make you your breakfast ( which thankfully runs till 11 am) which has your normals....fruit, cereal, bagels, toast and then his "daily specials" are extra special indeed. We had french toast w/ sausage, scrambled eggs w/bacon, and sweet potato pancakes w/ sausage. If you are really lucky he will even make some of his banana bread from scratch. Yummy!!!! Their restaurant is also highly respected but we didn't get a chance to dine there. You also must book a massage and use the spa facilities. Rod has the most amazingly strong yet gentle hands and Cindy worked some special magic on my friend who hasn't been able to enjoy a massage for years due to injury. They also have a stream room, sauna and delightful mineral pool. The location couldn't be better. One block off of Commercial st right in the middle of the strip. I would highly recommend bringing / renting bikes as you don't want to drive and some things are just a little too far to walk. We will definately be back again and again and again.

We wanted to book the hotel for our anniversary based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, and that they had a special for the weekend. When we called, the hotel was all out of the $600 for 2 nights specials, so we upgraded to the deluxe room special with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. It also included dinner for two and breakfast each morning. Now it was up to $800 for 2 nights. Still not bad, right?

Well, the rooms are tired. I'm all for a Bed and Breakfast type setting, but the carpets were dirty, the desk and coffee tables had many, many rings and stains on them, and the bathroom just wasn't clean. Toiletries were never replenished either. One of the TVs (of course the one we wanted to watch) didn't operate properly. The fireplace was a small unit that had no charm, certainly nothing you'd want to curl up in front of.

The hotel also has a spa, another reason we chose it, but it ran out of amenities when we went there, including towels! As for dinner, we had lobster ravioli (obviously from the freezer) and tomato and mozzarella salads (very under-ripe tomatoes). My wife had tenderloin stir fry for her entree (about as good as the corner Chinese restaurant) and I had blackened salmon (over cooked is an understatement). As for breakfast, almost as good as a chain hotel lobby buffet, but not quite.

I know everyone else loves this hotel, but I can't imagine why. We're certainly not world travelers and don't have sky-high standards. We just want a clean room, a decent meal, and for everything to work.

A few outside rating agencies gave the property 4 stars/diamonds, this too boggles our minds! Try the place, you'll see!

We fell in love with this hotel because of its website. We were promised pampered luxury and although the room was very nice, the food didn't live up to expectations. We bought a food voucher with the room as part of the package persuasively marketed on their site but the waiter made us feel like second class citizens for having it and it only covered half of the meal. We also had an 18% service charge added to the whole amount and didn't get very good service.Breakfast was ok but not as good as advertised. The lady behind the front desk was very helpful though and gets top marks and the cheese and wine between 5 and 6pm was a nice touch.

“Elegant but relaxing retreat at the Crowne Pointe!”

The Crowne Pointe Historic Inn & Spa is perfectly situated in the heart of Provincetown, MA. It is within walking distance of the shore, local sightseeing excursions such as the Pilgrim's Monument, and the quaint streets of downtown with its abundance of shops, art galleries and fantastic restaurants.

Our deluxe room was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and the king sized bed was downy and inviting (and judging by how quickly I fell asleep every night, I'm certain it was sprinkled with magic tranquilizers.)

It was conveniently equipped with wi-fi and plenty of electrical outlets, a flat screen TV with DVD player and best of all, a deep jacuzzi tub! (Complete with rubber ducky)

We splurged on a couple's massage at the Shui Spa on day 2 of our stay and as a testament to the therapists' talent and the ambience of the establishment, we were rendered absolutely useless for the remainder of the day.

Unfortunately we never did partake in the Bistro's offerings but that's only because of how much fun we were having in town and how little we wanted to be held down by solid plans of dinner reservations.

The staff, very accommodating, also seemed genuinely happy. I can only imagine that such a beautiful work environment does wonders for the soul!

It was a treat to stay in Provincetown during the "off season”. What it lacked in lush window boxes and seasonal delights, it more than made up for in tranquility, the beauty of empty beaches, and in the personal service of every establishment we were in.
