Every summer when I was growing up we would spend a week or two on the Cape. Entering my Beach N' Towne Motel's room for the first time was like stepping into the past. The rooms are immaculate yet have that beach-cottage scent I love! The decor inside and out as well as in the old game room is just like a great , old beach cottage. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and best of all... the price is so very reasonable! Stay here and then go get brunch at the Good Friends Cafe on School Street in West Dennis and your faith in humanity will be restored!

I take annual trips to the Cape and have found the Beach 'N' Towne Motel to be more than suitable for my needs. Its location in the middle of the Cape makes driving to other Cape destinations much easier. I find the proprietors, Chris and Jasmine, to be very friendly, and always helpful in accommodating any reasonable requests. I like the fact that it's a small place, with all the rooms on one level, so that unpacking and repacking is no problem. Considering the prices on the Cape these days, I find the Beach 'N' Towne to be good value for the money.

We want to go back to the Cape this summer, so I am starting to look for places to stay. Last year, we drove to the Cape on a Saturday with no reservation and got stuck at his place. I cannot believe it is rated #1 on trip advisor. I think the management must be writing the reviews. The place is an absolute dump. The rooms are very old. It is located on a busy highway. The walls in the motel room are paper thin. My kids got quite an education by listening to the young couple going at it all night in the room next to us. The tv did not work properly, bathroom was not as clean as we would have liked. Lousy bed also.
We were suppose to stay 2 nights but found a better place near the beach so we left after one night and did not even bother to ask for a refund because we taked to another couple staying there and they wanted to leave also and the mangagement said no to any refunds and we didn't need any grief on our vacation.
Still looking for a place to stay this summer, but had to write in about this place when I saw it on trip advisor!

Management Response

(Management representative)

On the Trip Advisor "Write a Review" page, owners are admonished not to write reviews of their own property. If it is found that an owner is submitting reviews, a hotel could lose its status as a reviewable destination.

It is true that, on occasion, we will inform guests of the Trip Advisor website and will encourage them to leave a truthful review of our property if they desire to do so. We ALWAYS request that the guest leave a candid account of their experiences with complete honesty. We do not want future guests to expect the Taj Mahal, but we are proud of our clean, quaint and friendly little property and the experience we can offer our visitors.

As for this reviewer having an unfavorable stay, we regret not being given the opportunity to fix the situation. We have always indicated in any management response that in order for us to be able to correct and address a problem, it must be brought to our attention immediately. If we are not notified of an issue, we cannot correct it. As a management team, my husband and I have NEVER allowed an issue brought to our attention to go unaddressed.

One thing we have found however, is that a guest will often blame the property or the ownership for things like weather, gas prices, and poor planning on their part. These are all aspects of a stay on the Cape that are beyond our control, and being blamed for an overall bad stay due to mitigating circumstances (re: “we drove to the Cape on a Saturday with no reservation”) on a busy Saturday in August in one of the country’s biggest tourist areas is hardly fair or appropriate.

For our many, many return guests who plan ahead and research their stays, the Beach ‘N’ Towne has become a welcome place to stay and visit year after year. We always welcome our family home to our hearth after a long winter away

“A Cape cottage... in a room-How LOVELY!”

Beach N Towne Motel

9 Apr 2008

I had a friend recommend the Beach'n' Towne as a great Cape escape. My experience started with a friendly greeting at the front desk-main office...which looks like a mini-living room to a quaint home. There was of course a desk and counter but it was over shadowed by the rocking chair, lamps, and well-mannered "guard dog". The curtious worker behind the desk ( I later found out this was the general manager) was pleasant and happy to help me get settled into a room. Although I am only a single person I like to have space in my room, so I asked to have a room with two beds. I also explained that a friend might meet me. The next day when my friend did arrive she was directed to my room with no problem. When I asked for another key to the room the GM-Jasmine brought it to my room. Well not only was the room spacious, it was very clean, and mattresses were comfy...I was able to fall asleep pretty quickly which sometimes can be difficult for me in hotel rooms!! The furniture was wood and rustic, sort of with a retro cottage feel. Comfortable too! There was a large mirror by a desk...to get the full view of myself before going out, and the bathroom was big enough to fit my friends many necesseties and still be able to move around in! It came with a blow drier and a stock of clean towels. Now the shower itself has a stone floor and is just that.. a shower.....probably my only wish for this place is for it to get a tub and possibly a bigger sink!!! The bedding was fresh and the mini fridge in the room was great to hold my left-overs, from one of several, minute- away restaurants suggested by the staff. I suggest the Irish place out of the drive way and to the right-sure the staff will know what your talking about if you ask! There was ample parking for myself and my friend. There was a wonderful "lodge " at the end of the parking lot that they called the eagles nest. It housed a working fire place, couches, tables, and games. It was so comfy..and I do love the smell of burning wood. Sadly the pool that was across from it was not open during the winter...but I can't wait to check it out this summer. This place was great and I will certainly be back. You can do lots of the touristy stuff from there or just hang on the Beach'n'Towne property and escape the bustle of the world in what felt like my own little Cape Cottage....that was built in a room-How LOVELY it was!! Room rate was excellent, as was the service from the staff. Although it's on a major route, it's surprisingly quiet. I stayed in one of the front rooms that faces the street and was not at all bothered. If the AC is anything like the heat... you and I will be having a blast there this summer! Check it out.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for Valentine's Day with a get away. The room was cute, cozy and clean. The owners were pleasant and welcome and suggested places to go for breakfast. We had a wonderful time and plan to visit again soon.
