“A Cape cottage... in a room-How LOVELY!”
I had a friend recommend the Beach'n' Towne as a great Cape escape. My experience started with a friendly greeting at the front desk-main office...which looks like a mini-living room to a quaint home. There was of course a desk and counter but it was over shadowed by the rocking chair, lamps, and well-mannered "guard dog". The curtious worker behind the desk ( I later found out this was the general manager) was pleasant and happy to help me get settled into a room. Although I am only a single person I like to have space in my room, so I asked to have a room with two beds. I also explained that a friend might meet me. The next day when my friend did arrive she was directed to my room with no problem. When I asked for another key to the room the GM-Jasmine brought it to my room. Well not only was the room spacious, it was very clean, and mattresses were comfy...I was able to fall asleep pretty quickly which sometimes can be difficult for me in hotel rooms!! The furniture was wood and rustic, sort of with a retro cottage feel. Comfortable too! There was a large mirror by a desk...to get the full view of myself before going out, and the bathroom was big enough to fit my friends many necesseties and still be able to move around in! It came with a blow drier and a stock of clean towels. Now the shower itself has a stone floor and is just that.. a shower.....probably my only wish for this place is for it to get a tub and possibly a bigger sink!!! The bedding was fresh and the mini fridge in the room was great to hold my left-overs, from one of several, minute- away restaurants suggested by the staff. I suggest the Irish place out of the drive way and to the right-sure the staff will know what your talking about if you ask! There was ample parking for myself and my friend. There was a wonderful "lodge " at the end of the parking lot that they called the eagles nest. It housed a working fire place, couches, tables, and games. It was so comfy..and I do love the smell of burning wood. Sadly the pool that was across from it was not open during the winter...but I can't wait to check it out this summer. This place was great and I will certainly be back. You can do lots of the touristy stuff from there or just hang on the Beach'n'Towne property and escape the bustle of the world in what felt like my own little Cape Cottage....that was built in a room-How LOVELY it was!! Room rate was excellent, as was the service from the staff. Although it's on a major route, it's surprisingly quiet. I stayed in one of the front rooms that faces the street and was not at all bothered. If the AC is anything like the heat... you and I will be having a blast there this summer! Check it out.
