“Quaint Accommodation, lovely hosts”

Crocker House Inn

3 Jun 2008

We stayed in room no. 4 at the Inn for 2 nights in early May. The room was small but more than adequate for a short stay. It was spotless and very tastefully decorated. The Inn is in a lovely quiet area and the house is decorated very tastefully and it has a great homely feel to it.

The owners are lovely hosts and they really make you feel at home. Jeff was fantastic at replying very quickly to any emails we sent prior to our visit.

The breakfast served each morning was a pleasure to wake up to and a lovely start to the day.

There are not many restaurants to choose from in the area but the bus service is very good if you dont have your own transport.

One thing I would mention that this area of the island is a DRY area, but you can bring your own drink to the local restaurants and they will charge you a small fee. Oakbluffs is only 10 minutes away by bus and there are a good selection of bars/restaurants to choose from. A good choice for a relaxing break in Vineyard Haven.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights and had a fabulous time. The owners were very welcoming, kind and funny, ensuring our stay felt like home away from home. All local amenities are a few minutes walk, with the sea visible from the property. The owners helped to book bikes for us, which was done with no hassles, and they cook a mean breakfast! The property is beautiful and very tastefully decorated, all light and airy, and very homely. Our room was on ground level and was large, with an en suite bathroom, and a flat screen TV, which were in immaculate condition and cleaned every day. There were cute little personal touches everywhere. If we went back to MV, we would definitely stay here again.

Stay at the Crocker House because:

It has the true vibe of a B&B

Quaint, clean, private rooms

Great atmosphere in the common room provided by the owners and their ability to set an easy, social tone.

Walk to Vineyard Haven center in 3 minutes and the ferry in 5.

Free coffee all day.

Delicious breakfast each morning.

Booze for sale at the honor bar even though VH is a dry town.

Add it up = good value for money.

I would never stay anywhere else but the Crocker House Inn. It was my 3rd stay at the Inn with my husband and we can't wait to go back. The service is outstanding. The rooms are comfortable, clean and decorated with a warm feel. I can't get enough of the complementary breakfast. The home-made granola & the fresh egg & cheese wraps are my favorite. The Inn's location is perfect. The walk right from the ferry to the Inn is close and there are excellent restaurants and shops along the way. The owners are nice and always give great recommendations for places to visit. I would definitely recommend the Crocker House Inn to anyone.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Crocker House and it was fantastic. My girlfriend and I stayed in Room 8, the upstairs suite, and it was clean, spacious, and impecabbly decorated. The small balcony looks over Vineyard Haven harbor, there's a free standing gas fireplace, small couch. The bathroom is huge with a two person jacuzzi. The bed linens are gorgeous and comfortable.

It really could not have been any better of a stay. The breakfast was superb. (Make sure you have yogurt parfait - put the granola and fresh cranberries on top!! - pure heaven!) Jeff and Jynell were funny, gracious, and incredibly helpful and friendly. They mapped out the "must-see" spots on the Vineyard for our first stay. Some cocktails in the early evening, along with some of the delicious "Crocker chip cookies" were a perfect beginning to a great night on the island.

This was our first visit to the Vineyard and we booked with Crocker House because of the reviews I read here on Trip Advisor - I'm so glad I did! Seriously, there's a reason that the place is #1 on this site - the reviews are true... it's the best!
