We were there last week (first full week in October). We were with a bus group and stayed four nights. The biggest complaints from everyone is hard beds and flat pillows. Also, since a lot of the people were seniors (I'm not but some people have a hard time walking), they had a hard time going upstairs. There isn't a elevator. The employees did help carry suitcases upstairs. I didn't use the indoor pool (seemed a little cold for me) or the hot tub. The people were friendly. I asked to use a computer and they gave me the key to their break room. One of the people in our group pulled their sheets back and found hair under the sheets. The lot is nice to walk around. They gave our group a continental breakfast. Nothing fancy but if you want something to eat, they had fruit, cereal and pastries. I would have liked to walk to the beach but we were only there at night so I didn't get to see how far it was.

I think that is all I can think of.

I chose this hotel for the rate and the reviews on tripadvisor. The hotel was clean and neat. It is not very modern, but it is very well kept. It was a very comfortable environment. It is a typical Cape Cod style hotel. The staff were friendly and the hotel offered plenty of local information. You were even able to BBQ if you wanted and they supplied the tools. You just bring food and charcoal. The hotel also offered free miniature golf and they had a small play area for kids. The location was great to all. The beaches were not too far away. We enjoyed the pool especially the indoor one. The only thing I would like to see is a coffee maker in the room and alittle less over kill on the air freshener. The refrigerator was a plus. The hotel was a great place for my family. They offered breakfast . We would return.

Given the prices of some of the other motels in the area this was a bargain but you get what you pay for. It wasn't the Ritz but it wasn't the Bates Motel either!

Free coffee was nice and we felt the staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Indoor pool had way too much chlorine although the outdoor pool was fine. I will agree with some of the reviews that the stairs and hallways were noisy when you walked on them

The last night we stayed the Yarmouth Police showed up around midnight to answer a disturbance down the hall. Seemed like there were a large number of teenagers and those in their early twenties which may explain the noise and horseplay. I'm afraid that the motel, despite their good intentions, may not be appropriate for young families like mine as I felt a little wary of some of the guests that were stayting there.

Location was the reason why we chose the Mariner, within walking distance to everything including Seagull Beach. However we'll likely consider other properties first the next time we go.

We stayed there back in '96 and 11 years later, not much has changed. Room style is of late 80s but I've been in places that look like they're from the 50s, so that's not too shabby... First thing I noticed upon stepping in was one of the entry door's glass had tape all over it, as if they were too cheap to repair it. Floors a little creaky. Our room faced the rear parking lot which was perfect for us - much quieter! Checkin/out was easy -they make you sign something though stating you won't smoke or be subject to a $150 fee, because all rooms are non-smoking (horray!)

In a nutshell:

Pros - location, convenience to seagull beach, Dunkin Donuts, and everything else, cleanliness, affordable place to stay Mid-Cape, TV cable selection

Cons - beds were hard, A/C converted to "automatic"/energy saver was a little tricky, no wifi/internet, calls 25c + .05c/minute if you did want to dial up, tiny bathroom

I'd give the place at least a 4 if the beds were comfortable, but since most of our time is spent sleeping in a motel room, it's one of the most important qualities! Might stay there again but also willing to see what else is out there that we haven't tried.
