We were a family of 5 adults and arrived late in the evening at the One Centre Inn. We were tired of our long trip of 7 hours but had a warm welcome from Mary, the innkeeper who then took care of dinner reservation for us. It was a very good choice (Barnstable Tavern in Barnstable), the food was good and not too pricey.

Breakfast at the Inn was also delicious. The rooms were very cosy and the beds are very very comfortable. We definitely recommend the Once Centre Inn. Lots of attention to details and we loved our stay there.

We had been travelling the whole day and when we finally arrived at One Centre Street Inn, Mary, the proprieter, met us at the door, took one look at us and said, "Would you like a glass of wine?" We went for peace and quiet and we found it in abundance along with friendly company, the biggest breakfasts I've ever had at a B&B, a comfortable room, knowledgeable advice on what to do and where to go, and the feeling of home. We spent much of our time at the inn on Mary's wonderful screened-in porch, and wandering the gift and antique shops of Yarmouth Port. It's off the regular tourist track so your best bet is to drive there because the local buses don't run along Route 6A.

Our first visit to Cape Cod was unforgettable, in large part because of our lodging at One Centre Street Inn. The rooms themselves are authentic "Old Cape"--you feel like you are in a sea captain's home--with elegantly appointed furnishings and accessories-- yet no comfort is sacrificed to achieve the 19th century experience. The best part of our stay however was the pampering we received from our amiable and genial innkeeper, Mary, who greeted us warmly at the door each time we arrived, delighted us each morning with a different gourmet breakfast--our favorite was her signature "Eggs Singleton"--and sent us to bed with a wine and cheese nightcap. She is extremely knowledgeable about the environs and each of her suggestions about where to eat and what to do were exactly right. We plan to return often to the Cape, and this will be our "home" there.

We stayed here for one night in June. The owner Mary and her partner Judy ( who we did not meet ) have only recently assumed ownership of the Inn. Mary, however, is a natural. Even though she is new to the business she was the perfect host. We have encountered some long time inn owners in our travels who could certainly benefit by watching Mary in action. She served crackers and cheese on the expansive screened in porch and immediately volunteered to make dinner reservations when we mentioned we were thinking of having dinner at a nearby restaurant. We had a great breakfast that included fresh fruit, blueberry muffins, and quiche.
The building, constructed in the 1800's is on the National Register and has lots of New England character with wide floor boards and high ceilings. We stayed on the second floor in the Doane Room that had a king size bed, small refrigerator, and large bathroom. The entire Inn was well furnished and immaculate.
