The whole experience of The Henry Ford was one of the most enjoyable trips we have
ever had in our many years of traveling. The Ford Rouge plant was enjoyable as well as entertaining to see the history of Ford, and the plant where the F150 is being made. The Henry Ford Museum in many ways is better than the Smithsonian Museum in D.C. In the displays, artifacts and the way the museum is laid out. Greenfield village is a gem and the reason we enjoyed the trip so much. When you enter the village it is like stepping back in time.they have original buildings, people dressed up in clothes from the period, and walking around town. A carousel you can ride dating back to the early 1900's.you can ride in Ford Models T cars, a locomotive train ride goes around the village with a guide telling the history of the village. You can also ride in a horse drawn carriage. All of these can be done for a 10.00 pass for unlimited rides all day. We had lunch at the Taste of History Restaurant which was very good, with many local selections and a bakery with fresh baked goods. If you plan on attending you must plan your trip on a day where you can see the historic baseball games being played, where the players dress up and play by the rules of the early game. Get there early as you can meet at the town hall as they introduce the teams and walk with the old time band as they play and walk down to the field with the players. This is a special treat for baseball fans of any age. Plan on spending the whole day at Greenfield Village there is plenty to do here for the whole family. The Henry Ford Experience was very enjoyable and we plan on coming back again.
