The whole experience of The Henry Ford was one of the most enjoyable trips we have
ever had in our many years of traveling. The Ford Rouge plant was enjoyable as well as entertaining to see the history of Ford, and the plant where the F150 is being made. The Henry Ford Museum in many ways is better than the Smithsonian Museum in D.C. In the displays, artifacts and the way the museum is laid out. Greenfield village is a gem and the reason we enjoyed the trip so much. When you enter the village it is like stepping back in time.they have original buildings, people dressed up in clothes from the period, and walking around town. A carousel you can ride dating back to the early 1900's.you can ride in Ford Models T cars, a locomotive train ride goes around the village with a guide telling the history of the village. You can also ride in a horse drawn carriage. All of these can be done for a 10.00 pass for unlimited rides all day. We had lunch at the Taste of History Restaurant which was very good, with many local selections and a bakery with fresh baked goods. If you plan on attending you must plan your trip on a day where you can see the historic baseball games being played, where the players dress up and play by the rules of the early game. Get there early as you can meet at the town hall as they introduce the teams and walk with the old time band as they play and walk down to the field with the players. This is a special treat for baseball fans of any age. Plan on spending the whole day at Greenfield Village there is plenty to do here for the whole family. The Henry Ford Experience was very enjoyable and we plan on coming back again.

Holiday Nights - That good ole Christmas feeling...

If you need to get in the Christmas mood and are missing that "good ole Christmas feeling", visit the Holiday Nights at Henry Ford/Greenfield Village. It will definitely put you in the Christmas mood (and then some). The Carolers, the reindeer, the old fashioned decorations, the old fashioned ice skating rink, Santa and so much more. Take a step back in time to when Christmas had real meaning. You won't be disappointed, in fact you will probably make this an annual family Christmas tradition, I know I have. Christmas isn't Christmas anymore until I've gone to the Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village. I look forward to it every year and come away with such a wonderful, warm Christmas feeling. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed. Dress warm, bring flashlights and ENJOY!

Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind to us when we visited, it would have been nice to wander round in the sunshine instead of the rain. As someone else said, I feel the ride pass was not worth the extra cash - I wanted a horse and carriage ride but although I could see them going around none of the staff I asked seemed to know exactly where we should go to get one. It was good having a ride in a Model T car and on the train. We didn't manage to see it all but enjoyed what we did see. We had hoped to see a film in the IMax theatre but it was pretty much sold out. So, it is certainly worth a visit if you are in that area, try and go early so you can make the most of it all.

I have not been to the Henry Ford Museum or Greenfield Village since I was a little girl. I am now 33 years old and I had the best weekend ever up there, a lot of things have changed and it was for the better! I am not too much into cars, but I loved looking at all of them. Cars and guitars was also a new addition that I loved; especially Alice Coopers display! I am planning on coming back to visit in October for my 10th anniversary!

Most of us here in Michigan and the Detroit area already know what a great place the Henry Ford?Greenfield Village complex is. Most of us have wonderful memories of field trips from school or family outings to see the Detroit Symphony on July 4th.
As you can clearly see, most of the reviews are positive. Try not to see this in 3 hours, take the time to wander, read and listen for the full experience.
I kind of feel the ride pass is a bit of a rip-off, you can buy individual tickets for the train, model t rides etc.
To save money, join the membership plans that are offered or if you are out of towners, the package deals will save you money with the local hotels. The Dearborn area has many great ethnic restaurants so go explore if you don't want to eat at the complex.
Most of all, wear good walking shoes, no heels ladies, you will regret it!!
