Take this review with a grain of salt, since I didn't actually get to stay at the TownePlace Suites in Dearborn. I attempted to book the Henry Ford package which is listed on the Henry Ford Museum website but the hotel refused to honor the package. They stated that while rooms were available, no packages were. Service representative I spoke with was courteous, but explained in no-uncertain terms that all packages are by availability only and this package was not available. No where on the Henry Ford website is this policy indicated. There you will find a published rate of $258 for family suite, two nights, which includes 4 tickets to 2 attractions (8 tickets total). Rate I was quoted was $140/night (not including tickets). I elected to pass and chose another suite hotel which gladly honored the Henry Ford package. Will post a review after our stay in June.

I didn't have any much problem with the place except that they don't provide breakfast and the internet was extremely slow. I was on a business trip and I feel both these are very important for such stays.

I stayed at Towne Place Suites July 31-Aug 4, 2008, to attend a family reunion in Detroit. I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with my husband, 2 kids and my mom. The room was very clean, and the kitchenette is great. The living room has a sofabed and a flat screen TV. The bathroom is a nice size. Just wish there would have been 2.
This hotel is in a great location with easy access to Southfield Fwy. A shopping center which includes a Walmart that is walking distance and Fairlane Towne Center is about a 5 minute drive. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get to downtown Detroit.
As stated in a previous review, yes the pool is in front of the building but is it not so bad that you get splashed on when you walk to the office.
I had a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

This is a good location for visitors to The Henry Ford and Greenfield village, and it really isn't bad for downtown visitors either. Downtown is only a few minutes away, and you avoid paying for parking. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom and shower were in excellent condition. The kitchen was a nice amenity to have, although I didn't really use it other than for coffee and storing drinks in the full size fridge. There are several restaurants close by if you decide to eat out, plus lots of shopping.

We stayed here for two nights, Friday & Saturday booked through the hotel website. The Henry Ford Escape package. This hotel is nothing fancy, but I was pleased for the money. The Studio suite had a nice little kitchen. Hotel seemed busy but it was overall pretty quiet. I Was not impressed at all with the beds or pillows. Pool is pretty small and is outdoors. Staff was very nice. I would say great value for the money.
