If you're a grown up, this is a fabulous place to stay. Here is a list of the things we thought were excellent:
*warmest pool water I've ever experienced
*comfy mattresses
*nice breakfast selection
*recenty renovated, contemporary decor
*friendly desk staff
*room and public areas very spic and span
*lots of storage in bathroom
*nice selection of pool toys for kids
If you're traveling with young children, keep looking.
*beds were too high for children to get into without help, my three-year-old fell out in the middle of the night and hurt himself (beds were double and not queen, which compounded the problem)
*sink in restroom was too high for my tall five-year-old to reach, we didn't have a stool, so had to lift him every time he needed to wash his hands
*no table in room (just narrow desk) and only one chair made eating pizza difficult, bedspreads were white, so we didn't want to eat on the beds, either, ended up eating in lobby
In summary, Hampton caters to business travelers. I stayed at this motel before they remodeled back in 2003. While the new decor is lovely, the furnishings in the room just aren't practical for little folks. I miss the round table, two chairs and lower beds found in the old rooms. If I were traveling without my kids, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here, but probably won't try it again with them along.
