“Older hotel. Casino connection.”
I rated this 3 stars but other than a few of the extras, I was completely unimpressed. Overpriced rooms but there isn't much of a selection in Hinckley so you take what you can get. (I booked this room before the concert was announced so my rate was $89, however, after the concert was announced, the rates jumped up)
Our room was a double double, which meant 2 full size beds. Works great for singles sleeping alone but 2 people in one bed can be rather snug. The only other size bed available was a king, and those are only in the suites. The room was outdated, and I was nervous to even begin to look around because it didn't have the newer clean feel or smell, however, it wasn't scary or top-surface dirty anywhere.
Pros: Check in was very fast and involved very little interaction. There is a pool and a 24 hour shuttle to the nearby casino. We were in town for a concert at the casino so this was extremely convenient. Granted, staying at the casino would have been ideal as well but this hotel is also a casino-branched hotel and was easily over $100 cheaper per night. Silly.
Cons: Disappointed in the 'continental breakfast' Was mainly toast, mini-muffins, dry cereal and juice. Selection was pretty picked over. Beds were uncomfortable and it was a softer water pressure in the shower.
Would I stay here again? Maybe. It is across the street from a theatre and a multi-plex consisting of a 24 hr restaurant, bar, convenience store and ice cream shoppe. However, there is also a Day's Inn down the road that offers all the same perks (pool, breakfast, 24 hr shuttle) so I would probably try that out just to compare.
All in all, I'm on the fence with this one. Can use some updates and improvements.....
