We are staying a third time in April and we can't think of a better place to stay in Rochester! The staff, and I mean ALL staff, doorman, front desk, cleaning staff, etc. are friendly and helpful. The place is quiet and most important of all, CLEAN. Beautiful lobby, everywhere you walk, decorated nicely. The Metro has great food and good prices and all the staff are super. At Bobbies Restaurant we had an excellent breakfast at a good price. After being at Mayo all day, it was nice to come back to this hotel.

This was my second trip to Rochester in three months, the first time lodging at the Best Western. I chose the Radisson for the indoor link to Mayo and that was the best part of my stay. Compared to the Best Western I found the rooms small and very noisy. Barking dogs are not kept to one floor of the hotel and we were unfortunately placed next to one with even louder (talking, tv) owners. The heating/cooling system is archaic, lacking a thermometer and noisy. Street noise was an issue but I had not requested a quieter room, as I had during my first stay. There is definitely an upper-class sensibility in the lobby, staff is more professional and the sleep-number beds are nice, but housekeeping was only marginally better at the Radisson and some amenities found at BW were lacking, such as a microwave, refrigerator, and continental breakfast. It might be nice for one night during cold weather, but for longer stays I'd choose something else.

If you're in Rochester for business, this is a good hotel choice, especially if your business is in the Mayo clinic. There are skywalks which link the hotel to all the Mayo offices. The pool is pretty big and usually empty. The room was your average room, with a sleep number bed, which I hate. The bathroom is tiny, but we really didn't spend much time in the room.

Their room service menu is impressive, with tons of choices and pretty good food. Don't eat at their restaurants. There are many nearby. Check out Newt's, which is two blocks away. They are known for their burgers, though I thought that the burgers were just like any other, yet still very good. There is a tapas place about 2 blocks away as well called Santos. Very good food and very authentic. We did have breakfast at Bobby's in the hotel one morning and were disappointed. They are very slow, so if you do go, make sure you have enough time to get to the airport or work.

My colleages at the same Mayo meeting had better experience in the other Downtown Hotels except Kahler
