I would not recomment the Days Inn at Exit 47 of I-29 in St Joseph, Missouri (4312 Frederick Blvd). Rented a room on 11-03-09, placed bags in room and went to eat and shop. Upon return, entered room to relax and noticed conversation from adjoining room. The 'neighbors' were not excessively loud; the walls were paper thin!! Immediately went to the front desk to ask about moving to a more isolated room and was told that I probably could not due to having been in the room for several hours. Informed the clerk that I had just returned from eating and had not been in the room more that a few minutes. She begrudgingly called management to 'check' on my wife and I having the option to move. Upon approval, we were put in another room. The air conditioning did not work; there were only two towels in the room; the television channel selections were very lacking. Not worth the call to the front desk as it should get cooler during the night. HOWEVER, at their rates, I would not stay there again and certainly would not recommend them to anyone.

Stayed here because of cheap rate for group 56.99/King, 58.99/2 double. Internet rate was actually higher, got this rate by calling direct. Very run down and in poor repair. Bathrooms were wiped down but old soap scum etc. existed. Rates on marquee advertised as 49.99 but Nothing available at the that rate. Deluxe continental breakfast was stale muffins, little debbie type honey buns and moldy english muffins, some cereal, coffee and juice. advertised as HOT breakfast in travel brochure in lobby. Next day, maid service did not replace towels but folded up old ones and rehung (even though clean towels were requested). Other parties were locked out their rooms after first night. Had to go to front desk to have key cards turned back on. I would not have stayed here at all but others in the party wanted cheaper rates. It was a convenient location near the highway. King bed sleepers said beds very comfortable, but double beds were old and saggy. convenient to decent chain restaurants - Perkins, Denny's, Applebees.

When I called directly, the rates were much higher than advertised. Front desk advised I’d have to call the 800 number to get the better rate, which I did. Upon arrival, they assigned us a room next to the vending area. I requested a different room and they gave me a choice of 3 others, all smoking, of which the front desk said that even though they spray every day, the rooms “still stink”. We declined and accepted the original room #123. BIG MISTAKE. The sink was moldy next to the wall. Wallpaper puckering away from the sink, floor carpet was sticky dirty. Couldn’t plug in the curling iron, or the overhead light would go out (electrical short). Bed lumpy. Shower filthy, walls paper thin (neighbors kept me awake at 1:30 am), mirrors grimy, wood furniture so old that the varnished edges were worn away. Wallpaper from 1980. Even though our three other friends also pre-booked, we were all charged different rates! A different couple asked to be moved because their bed was off the frame and springs were poking thru. Front desk gave them a choice of 2 other rooms – Different from the ones we were told were available just hours prior! Manager was rude and couldn’t care less!

We recently booked 2 rooms for our large family using the Days Inn 1 - 800#. We booked 1 adult and 3 children per room and were given a confirmation #. When we arrived at this hotel the desk clerk asked if any of the children were over 12 yrs. of age. I told them that 1 child was over 12 and they told me that there would be an extra charge for anyone over 12. I told them I booked through the Days Inn 1-800# and nothing was mentioned about extra charges for children of the same family. The desk clerk then became agitated and said I would have to pay extra for my 15yr. old. to stay at this hotel. Nonetheless after a small arguement they called the Days Inn 1-800# themselves to verify what I was saying was true. They then learned that I was not charged extra and apologized for the incovenience. It was only later when I looked more closely at the Days Inn website that they do in fact only consider ages 12 and under to be children. So if you have a 13 or 14 year old travelling with you , make sure you double check that you are not going to be charged extra whenever you stay at a Days Inn.
