We arrived in the evening to find the hotel locked and desserted, but there was a note on the door with our name on and details inside, a little like Mission Impossible with door codes taking us to other envelopes and eventually our room key.
The hotel was empty apart from us, we were the only guests. We were trusted to go into the kitchen to help ourselves to drinks. In the morning a lovely lady, the owner, made us breakfast and told us many tales of her life and the hotel.
Each room is themed, cosy and comfortable. The hotel is full of nick nacks, antlers, moose heads, handbags, a bear, masks, photos of probably dead people, instruments, etc. A real quirky find for an independent motel. Highly recommended.
There were roadworks nearby which meant the bridge leading to the hotel was out, so it was difficult to find the building without sat nav.
