It was my first time in downtown St. Louis and I had made a reservation for a cheap chain hotel downtown. When I arrived there, I didn't feel safe at all. I drove to the other side of the cloverleaf and there was a Hampton Inn so I checked in there. They have a metal door on the parking garage that you use your room key to get in.

The hotel was very nice. I loved the breakfast buffet and the business center, as well as pool and hot tub. It's very conveniently located to the St. Louis arch. You can be there first thing in the morning and beat the crowds.

I wouldn't venture out to walk around downtown St. Louis at night though. There's nothing open and it's not safe for a single woman. There's also no place to shop during the day, as far as I can see.

We stayed here in March 08 while doing a Route 66 trip.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Arch, and there is a wonderful Irish Pub, Tigin located right in the lobby, which I have reviewed separated (It was fantastic!)

The staff was friendly and helpful, and even though the garage was undergoing reconstruction while we were here it wasn't a problem.

The only negative comment I have is that I didn't care for th hot tub, which was a plastic type hot tub, similar to what you'd expect to see ion someones backyard rather than a hotel hottub. It also wasn't very hot, and the jets weren't very powerful. I found it difficult to get in and out of.

That being said the views from the pool/spa level were also wonderful.

Breakfast was great, as it is as most Hamptons.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks during April.
The hotel rooms are pleasantly decorated, have good size and are very clean. The breakfast is always fresh and the menu changes every day on some hot items. The front desk are exteremely nice and helpful, and even moved me to a better room on second week without any request or complaint from my side.
The hotel's location is also convenient- it's 5 mins walking to the Arch and Laclede's landing area, and there are 2 metro stations also within 5-7 mins walking. For those who need to travel outside of St.Louis by car, the hotel is also located nearby some highway exits so it's pretty convenient as well.
The only thing that I would improve in this hotel is the lack of safe deposit boxes in the rooms. The guests can store valuable items in the front desk with no problem, but inroom safe would be much better.
I'd definitely stay here again.

Overall, a good stay. I am a big Hampton / Hilton fan.

Staff was extremely helpful and nice - great customer service skills. Clean room, great location, great beds, etc. Good hot breakfast (standard Hampton).

My only issue was that I got put in one of those rooms behind the elevator. While I couldn't hear the elevator, the bathroom was extremely small.

10 minute walk to the Arch - and great views of the Mississippi River.
