I got a chance to stay at the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis and wow, was it gorgeous! Very sleek and modern. Every staff member I encountered was very warm. They had been opened just about a week so it seemed if some kinks were still being worked out, but the service was great - typical for Four Seasons. Check in/check out was friendly and efficient.
The meeting space is very nicely appointed and the spa and fitness center are beautiful. My guestroom was on the 14th floor and had a breathtaking view of the Arch. Nice sized closet, mini-bar, safe, iHome clock and large flat screen TV that you could pivot to watch from the desk or bed. The bed was very comfortable with feather duvet and pillows. The bathroom had separate shower with a rainfall shower head, huge soaker tub and very cool in-mirror TV screen. The desk had a frosted glass top that showed every smudge and fingerprint and a small desk lamp that seemed out of place with the rest of the room. Only negative were the heating/cooling system - I thought it was a bit noisy and the pricey business center (minimum charge for computer usage of around $7).
It is next to the casino which has some good restaurants and plenty of people watching.

This is a brand new Four Seasons that just opened Febuary 4th 2008. I just returned from our stay in one of the Grand Premier rooms there. The Grand Premier room is like a junior suite. This hotel is located in the new Lumière Place Casino in down town St. Louis. We did go to the casino part and we did eat at the Four Season Restaurant Cielo.

I will write about the negatives first. Only a few negatives BUT they where more than made up with the excellent stay my husband and I had. We booked our stay directly with the hotel before it even opened. The reservation person told me that they where doing something special for the Valentines Day weekend. That the new owner was really promoting the place so we would get free champaign and flowers for that weekend. When we showed up they had champaign and strawberrys in the room. Now I had even called after my reservation to make sure it was free before we went to the hotel...But nope they wanted to charge us 102.00 dollars at check out. BUT I explained to the desk what I was told and how I had called and even had emails from reservations about it. So they comped it 50% off the 102.00. I was happy with that!

We wanted to take a bath in the great deep soaking tub BUT when we filled our tub it had allot of fuzz floating in the water and soapy residue...It wasn't that the tub was dirty..It was just the cleaning staff seems to use towels that shed to wash the tubs BUT they don't bother to rinse out the tub after they wash it!!! The tech came up to our room because we couldn't figure out the cool weight scale in the bathroom. When I called the desk they had someone up to our room in 5 min to show us! And I off handed mention the tub not really thinking much but to give them a heads up. We rinsed it out. Earlier that night we had pre-ordered our breakfast. The next morning after breakfast they called us and told us they where going to comp our 80.00 breakfast because of the tub!!! EXCELLENT!! We didn't have to ask or anything!! Things are pricey but it is worth it here. Valet parking charges by the day. We stayed one night but they charge per day so it was a lil over 40.00 for parking. To me thats a negative to charge that much for parking for one night. One last negative...When you get there (the hotel is on the 7th floor) you come in thru thier entrance on street level where they also valet your car...IT STUNK!! I MEAN IT STUNK BAD!! Like raw sewage gagging smell! It goes thru the whole lower level of that side of the building! BUT once you get on the elevator and step off to the reception area!! NO SMELL!! So the hotel part itself doesn't stink. Just the first level entrance area.

Sorry one more negative but it is slight...when we checked out since they had those comps for us the clerk ran my card 3 times. So as of right now it is showing 3 charges totaling around 1900.00 holding on my checking account. I am hopeing since they are pending transactions and I only signed one receipt come Monday only one charge will actually post. But that is a pain to know I have 1900.00 on hold on my account. I don't think it will be an issue if they do charge me. This isn't the type of place that would do that and not fix it for a refund. Luckly I have cash and don't mind this hold but I think for the average person this would be an extreme hold on thier checking for them.

When I reserved our room I made sure we got the largest room in that class of rooms. This class is the only class of room that has the rooms in some different sizes. I wanted the largest room for the 450.00 per night I was spending and I wanted an Arch view. They only have 3 rooms in that class with those requirements. Our room was 1026. It was a corner room so it was the larger in the class and it had an arch and city view!! They advertise that class as only a city view..so what you want to ask for is an Arch view if you book a Grand Preimer room. You want to make sure you get a corner room so you will get both views plus a lil larger room.

Every image you see online for them is accurate!! Everything looks just like the pictures they have posted! The rooms are MODERN style elegance. The TV in the bathroom is really in the mirror!! It isn't near the bottom but more upper mid area to the left of the mirror. They have ipod doc for yoru alarm clock and the TV in the room is a 42in plasma. You can also hook up your laptop for a charge of course. The bathroom blew me away. The deep soaking tub is really really deep. I have a deep soaking tub and this was deeper than mine! You can kind of see the TV built in the bathroom mirror from a side view when your in the tub but since its an LCD tv its not the best view from the side. The shower!! I didn't want to leave the shower!! It is a rain shower but it also has a hand attachment!! The tub even also had a hand attachment!! All marble bathroom with seperate toilet area!! EXCELLENT!! The toilet sits higher than normal for tall people. I am only 5 foot 4 and my feet tangled a lil bit above the floor. The shower is only sized for one person really though but it was so nice we didn't mind. They also have a lighted makeup mirror attached to the main mirror. The doors to the bathroom and the toilet room are a frosted glass. The main door to get into the bathroom is two doors that swing open!! VERY NICE. The room also had a lil marble counter bar area that I liked with the average cost per item mini fridge. I am posting some cell phone pics I took of the room. Sorry my cell phone doesn't take great pictures.

The staff is outstanding! They are prompted to any request and everyone even the cleaning people smilled and said hello. They tried very hard to make sure you where pleased. I hope they can keep it up. I know its a new hotel but If they can keep that level of service would be great. THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL IN ST. LOUIS!!! I have stayed at many many many so called nice hotels in St. Louis and this is the BEST truely a Four Seasons!!

The spa from what I saw looked great. I wanted to go in and just get my nails done in the short time of our stay but no nail people until March. They are only 80% open for thier services. They are new no big deal. But any guest can go and just use the sauna and hot tub.

We had dinner at the Four Season Restaurant Cielo. I wanted to order surf and turf (Lobster and Steak). It wasn't on the menu but they made it for me anyways!! And it was so good I told them they should add it to the menu!! The dessert I had was I think called the taste of Italy!! Very good (very small)The food is your typical nice upscale end gourmet food. NO big portions! From the looks of the place you wouldn't have expected it. The restaurant is modern toned down decor. So the food and presentation and the type of food was surprising to me. Now the chairs there are not comfy chairs. I don't know what that's about but the back was like this graded wood weave back. BE WARNED the chairs snag sweaters!! My husbands cashmere sweater got 3 snags on the back of it from the chairs. I could feel my sweater getting snaged but mine wasn't cashmere so no snags! The food was great though!!

The lil negatives I have with this hotel in all are really nothing in my book. We didn't care about them at all!!! Because everything else was so great!!! It's a new place so working out the lil bugs is normal. But I wanted to write a full review so I am posting everything. This is my new favorite hotel!!

As for the casino..uhhh its small. They try to be like Vegas but it's not a big place at all. On the weekends they dont have 5 dollar black jack tables. My husband wasn't to happy with that. We are not big gamblers but I usualy give him a few hundred to play with and that lasts him a long time. We aren't the type to spend money that we shouldn't be spending! So not to have the 5 dollar black jack on weekends was kind of a rip off in my book. But it is something to do while you are there. You can read reviews about it on here just for the casino part and I have to agree the outfits they have the girls wearing are interesting LOL. I don't mind it..I know they are trying to be Vegas style..only thing that bothered me is if your going to put a waitress in that outfit...please don't put unattractive girls in them!! No one wants to see that!! Some of the girls not that great looking. People to me are like art. If I am going to be looking at that much skin I want to see flawless art and sit back and go wow how pretty is that girl!! I wasn't feeling it in this place!!

In all this place is worth every penny you spend there! BEST BEST BEST hotel in St. Louis hands down!!! My bad cell phone pics don't do it justice!!
