“Average Motel with a Good Breakfast in a Very Touristy Town”

After trying TripAdvisors higher picks (4 motels), and finding they were all full, we just took the first motel in West Yellowstone that had vacancy. The room was OK, clean, small, with a fridge and a coffeemaker. The buffet breakfast was pretty good, with a couple hot items.
Our major complaint had nothing to do with the motel, but West Yellowstone: Crowded, very touristy, no good bar! But it is close to Yellowstone... Try Funky/Rustic Cooke City on the north-east side of Yellowstone.

“Comfortable rooms but bad customer relations”

Brandin' Iron Inn

This motel had comfortable, clean rooms and we liked it. However, the dining room is tiny, inadequate for the size of the motel, with only a few tables so expect to queue or take back to your room. We had another problem when we had to move rooms due to being a bit late in booking an extra night. Second room not so good, more worn, and later we realised the reason. We had been put in what can only be described as 'dog alley' rooms at the back all on one level which appeared to be for pet owners. This probably explained the room looking a bit jaded. At 2a.m. we had noisy neighbours and a barking dog. Complained next day that we had not been warned about dogs being in that section and was told by couldn't care less chap that if we had a problem to go to the police!! Ok so not so great on customer relatiions then...!

The Brandin Iron Motel in West Yellowstone was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff was very nice and I enjoyed my stay. It had a great location to allow some great shopping and dining in West Yellowstone on foot.

The room was very clean, unlike other hotels that I have stayed at in West Yellowstone. The price was reasonable for the peak tourist season. The continental breakfast was good, included close facsimiles to omelets and biscuits and gravy. We did not hear any of the other guests at all! Air conditioning unit was quiet!

“Great family hotel”

I really enjoyed our stay at the Brandin' Iron. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen area was really nice for the family. It would be nice to have a picnic area where you can cook on a barbeque or a propane stove.
