We used our timeshare points from another resort and paid a little extra to stay at Flamingo Bay (which is not one of the properties we own). We weren't expecting much. Our first stay at one of our timeshare properties in Arizona was a huge disappointment - we just figured we made a bad investment and assumed all our accommodations in the future would be "so, so".... NOT SO! Wow! - this resort blew us away!... We stayed in a 2 BR villa in the back - facing the street... it was very very clean - even the jacuzzi tub sparkled (which is a rare thing)... it was indeed like being in a roomy apartment - lots of space, full kitchen - really really nice!...
We arrived just as the staff at the concierge desk was leaving for the day... she had her coat on and was ready to go - but slowed down, took her time and made us feel welcome as owners... we declined a tour and she graciously accepted our answer. (Next time we go - and we will be back - we'll take the tour for sure!)
My encounter with the front desk happened when I discovered our cork screw was broken (oh my! - now that is a crisis!)... we had a new cork screw delivered to our door within minutes!... checking out was a blast with the three ladies at the concierge desk - pleasant, fun, energetic!...
My only complaint??? - and the reason we initially did not take the tour??? no wireless internet connection available! - Huge issue for me! - I called in advance to find out so I wasn't suprised when we arrived. (I encountered the same thing at a Sunterra resort - but there they actually made owners PAY for time online - eeek!).... anyway - they say the new properties they are building will be wireless - so that's a good thing (I just hope they don't go the route of having guests/owners pay for it - hear me loud - not a good idea!)
Lovely place, lovely staff - no pressure on sales - we WILL be back!
