We just got back from a 3 night stay at the Wynn Las Vegas. This hotel is new and very nice. After studying the website, I was pleased...because if you've looked at it, it leaves a lot to the imagination. We were happy that the rooms were big and the furnishings were pretty chic. My husband loved the flat panel TV in the restroom and I loved the electronic curtains. Open or close with the push of a button! I know these are small features, but it's the little things that made the difference here.
We felt the staff was accomodating and that each of the restaurants we tried was up to par. Not the best food in Vegas but pretty good. (Bear in mind that they are all very expensive.) We had Bartalotta, SW, The Buffet, and the Country Club. My favorite was the breakfast buffet. It's beautiful and had a great variety of everything. We loved the minature fruit. Also, if you have a chance to either dine at SW or have a drink at Parasol Down at night...look for the huge dancing frog. Apparently he comes out once an hour and is great. He sits on top of the huge wall of water at the lake. (if you go, you'll see what I mean)
As far as the casino goes, it is pleasing to the eye and they play good music. However, if you are looking for $10 tables...go to another casino. There was one small section that had lower priced tables during the day, but they jumped up to at least $25 at night. My luck was decent here, however everyone else in my group lost at the Wynn.
We didn't try Tryst, but did go into Lure for a drink. It's basically you're same old, same old lounge. We spent most of our time checking out the cool bar dancers in white boots. Drinks were expensive, and we all decided we'd rather be at the tables.
Our last night we saw the show called Le Reve. It was fantastic. A little weird, but anyone can appreciate the level of skill involved. I've also seen Avenue Q and recommend that as well. It's like sesame street for adults.
My husband played golf and raved over the course. It was an expensive round, but he felt that it was worth the splurge.
If I had to complain about anything it would be: 1- how much walking you do inside the hotel. It's huge so you end up walking around forever. 2-It was pretty crowded when we were there, so it made it kind of difficult at the tables. 3-There were some hookers...in fact, one tried to pick up my husband. However, that is probably the same all over vegas!
Overall, we'd go back. I would say that it is a huge improvement over the old Desert Inn that used to be there.
Good luck in Vegas!
