Last year was our first trip to Vegas and spent two days of Hell in the adjoining "THE Hotel" in Mandalay bay. We checked out and made the long trek to the Four Seasons (Note; If possible, use the private entrance on the other side instead of walking all the way through the Mandalay Bay. However, be aware that there are no sidewalks around the entry way).
I'll be completely honest in saying this: Walking into the Four Seasons was like walking into paradise. The quiet, the beautiful ambiance, the smells. There are no casinos, people greet you at the front door and they quickly learn your name. If you have to stand in line at the front desk, the service is quick and efficient. Being that Vegas is hot, there is always bottled water available. Sometimes the doormen/valet will give you some after they bring your car to you, or call you a cab. Talk about service!
The hotel set up is a little strange; The lobby and so forth are on the ground level, and there is another level that will take you to the door that leads to the Mandalay Bay Casino (for those who want to have easy access). The room floors don't start until floor 38 or so, and the main floor elevators have a side door that leads to the Four Seasons private pool.
Inside, is just gorgeous; marble hallways, subtle beige tones; it's like walking into a mansion.
Rooms are large and comfortable and my favorite part about staying at the Four Seasons is that they have Turner Classic Movies! Hopefully if you are a classic movie fan (who finds this info useful!), they will still offer this station!
The bathrooms aren't huge, but they are spacious, with tubs, a fairly good-sized shower, robes, a vanity section with a magnifying mirror and double doors to the bathroom for total privacy; as well as a separate commode area.
The last time we stayed here, we were given (without asking) a room with an incredible view of the strip. Just amazing. I could have stared out the window for hours!
The pool is wonderful and I have learned from other reviews that there are special amenities available, which I will definitely inquire about. The nice thing is that the employees will find you some chairs, drape the towels over them for you, and generally give you whatever you need.
The only thing I don't like about the pool is that (like Mandalay Bay), it closes at 7pm. However, the spa is open until 9pm and it deserves it's own paragraph!
The spa use at the Four Seasons is FREE (except for of course, treatments and massages, etc), if you can believe it. Something Free in Vegas! Last time we took advantage of it after a long day sightseeing at Hoover Dam. The pool had already closed, but we took a change of clothes and went down to the spa where we took showers in the huge individual shower rooms. The showers have amenities like shampoo, soap, conditioner, you can get razors, feminine products, q-tips, cotton balls, moisturizer... almost anything you can think of. It's here. There is an area that has vanity mirrors where you can sit down (in the plush robe that you get when you ask for a locker key-even slippers and a towel!), and they have hair dryers, hair gel, etc.
There is even a couples lounge which is wonderful for husbands and wives. Just ask the attendant to show you the way. Once inside, the lights are already dim (to the point that I could have slept for days in there), and very soft music plays in the background. There are magazines available to read, and I must mention the steam room with its eucalyptus steam. Absolutely heavenly!
This is the ONLY place I will stay when I am visiting the Las Vegas area and plan on spending time on the strip. Need I say more? It's SO worth the splurge!
I should also add: This year, our staying here was contingent on whether or not we would return to Vegas and I think it will continue to be that way.
