Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

Just got back from a Vegas 4th of July holiday /anniversary celebration weekend. Stayed 4 nights at the Four Seasons. This was our 1st trip to Vegas, and what a fantastic trip. After reading numerous reviews about the Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, Ceasars Palace, Mandalay Bay, and the Four Seasons...we decided to take a gamble before gambling in Vegas, and chose to stay at the Four Seasons. It was fantastic!!!! Great excitement, fun, and plenty of action, and just enough quite R & R to balance out our 4 night stay. Having access to the Mandalay casino, pools, restaurants, etc was non-eventful because everything is literally right there together and really all located within Mandalay Bay. The room was beyond awesome, and definitely offered the peace and quiet we were looking for, whenever we choose to retreat back to the room. We have already decided that our next trip to Vegas, will be complete by returning to the Four Seasons!!!

I'm not going to lie. I gave this property five stars because, well, its an excellent hotel. But would I stay here again? I don't know.

The truth is, The Four Seasons in Vegas is great if you are looking for a little down time. You can go spend your entire night in the casino at Mandelay Bay and then step into the FS elevator and its instantly quiet. But is that a good thing?

It is Vegas, after all.

It worked out well for us because I was staying with my family, that tends to be a little quieter and hates noise at night. However, if you are here for outrageous Vegas-themed suites, late night parties, etc., this place is NOT for you.
Aditionally, since this place does not have a casino it is VERY expensive. You could book a much larger suite in another Vegas hotel for nearly half of the price.

Then again, you would not be guaranteed this quiet. So it's really up to you when traveling in Vegas what kind of atmosphere you are looking for.

By the way, pool is very nice. Pool attendants were very nice, and I was the only one in the pool. Very relaxing. Also you may want to be aware Mandaley Bay/FS is at the very beginning of the Strip, so you will have to walk (don't even try to drive/take a cab...it will take hours) a pretty decent distance to get anywhere.

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas

Last year was our first trip to Vegas and spent two days of Hell in the adjoining "THE Hotel" in Mandalay bay. We checked out and made the long trek to the Four Seasons (Note; If possible, use the private entrance on the other side instead of walking all the way through the Mandalay Bay. However, be aware that there are no sidewalks around the entry way).

I'll be completely honest in saying this: Walking into the Four Seasons was like walking into paradise. The quiet, the beautiful ambiance, the smells. There are no casinos, people greet you at the front door and they quickly learn your name. If you have to stand in line at the front desk, the service is quick and efficient. Being that Vegas is hot, there is always bottled water available. Sometimes the doormen/valet will give you some after they bring your car to you, or call you a cab. Talk about service!

The hotel set up is a little strange; The lobby and so forth are on the ground level, and there is another level that will take you to the door that leads to the Mandalay Bay Casino (for those who want to have easy access). The room floors don't start until floor 38 or so, and the main floor elevators have a side door that leads to the Four Seasons private pool.

Inside, is just gorgeous; marble hallways, subtle beige tones; it's like walking into a mansion.
Rooms are large and comfortable and my favorite part about staying at the Four Seasons is that they have Turner Classic Movies! Hopefully if you are a classic movie fan (who finds this info useful!), they will still offer this station!
The bathrooms aren't huge, but they are spacious, with tubs, a fairly good-sized shower, robes, a vanity section with a magnifying mirror and double doors to the bathroom for total privacy; as well as a separate commode area.

The last time we stayed here, we were given (without asking) a room with an incredible view of the strip. Just amazing. I could have stared out the window for hours!

The pool is wonderful and I have learned from other reviews that there are special amenities available, which I will definitely inquire about. The nice thing is that the employees will find you some chairs, drape the towels over them for you, and generally give you whatever you need.
The only thing I don't like about the pool is that (like Mandalay Bay), it closes at 7pm. However, the spa is open until 9pm and it deserves it's own paragraph!

The spa use at the Four Seasons is FREE (except for of course, treatments and massages, etc), if you can believe it. Something Free in Vegas! Last time we took advantage of it after a long day sightseeing at Hoover Dam. The pool had already closed, but we took a change of clothes and went down to the spa where we took showers in the huge individual shower rooms. The showers have amenities like shampoo, soap, conditioner, you can get razors, feminine products, q-tips, cotton balls, moisturizer... almost anything you can think of. It's here. There is an area that has vanity mirrors where you can sit down (in the plush robe that you get when you ask for a locker key-even slippers and a towel!), and they have hair dryers, hair gel, etc.
There is even a couples lounge which is wonderful for husbands and wives. Just ask the attendant to show you the way. Once inside, the lights are already dim (to the point that I could have slept for days in there), and very soft music plays in the background. There are magazines available to read, and I must mention the steam room with its eucalyptus steam. Absolutely heavenly!

This is the ONLY place I will stay when I am visiting the Las Vegas area and plan on spending time on the strip. Need I say more? It's SO worth the splurge!

I should also add: This year, our staying here was contingent on whether or not we would return to Vegas and I think it will continue to be that way.

First time to Las Vegas and I will be coming back to this hotel. I noticed that at the Four Seasons you didn't have thousands of people not staying there just walking through like at all the other hotels. This hotel was private, clean, friendly service, great food and an awesome pool. Valet took a few minutes to get your car but we didn't mind.

No casinos in this hotel which is just great!

Overall, perfect 10!

here's the pros and cons (very few cons)
pros: staff and service excellent. discreet location within mandalay bay fantastic. room amenities plush. hardly any wait at all for a cab. (if you've stayed at any major strip hotel you know what i'm talking about on a saturday night - this hotel has about a 1-2 min wait for a cab). ability to use mandalay pool which is crazy, crazy. proximity to everything mandalay has to offer (14 restaurants). we had a north facing strip view which was fantastic. nice gym with tvs on the cardio equipment, bottled water, gatorade and great service by staff. spa looked nice but did not use it, but could smell the eucalyptus (ahhhh!) as you walk to the elevator. great concierge. absolutely no smell of smoke anywhere, instead it's eucalyptus and some kind of gardenia-type of flower which i call the "four seasons lobby smell." fantastic pool side service - frozen popsicles, evian spritzers, sunglasses personally cleaned, ice water pitchers and those very comfortable padded lounge chairs with those oversized, perfectly fitting towels draped over them.
and now for the cons: pool itself is a nice size, but pool area (where the lounge chairs are) is on the smaller side. we thought we'd be able to hide away, but not. the chairs are right next to each other. no cabana rentals due to small area around pool. pool and two jacuzzis close at 7pm which we thought was absolutely ridiculous. mandalay also closes at 7. the location is at the southernmost of the strip hotels definitely not near the center of the "action." extremely dull and boring shopping at the mandalay bay and only a gift shop at the four seasons. if we were staying only a fri-sun, we would stay elsewhere because of the location. next to the mandalay bay is luxor and excalibur. across the street from excalibur is mgm, new york and tropicana. a very dull, to say the least, corner of hotels. too bad they couldn't have placed the 4 seasons and/or mandalay bay closer to wynn, venetian or the mall. also, too bad the four seasons couldn't have been a standalone hotel so that the pool area could have been more spread out. we also didn't like the size of the room and bathroom. if you're used to a larger four seasons room you will be disappointed. contrary to another review re the closet size - our room had two closets that were opened with double doors. they were definitely not "walk-in" type of closets. the bathroom, although plush, is on the small side. it does have a separate shower, sink and toilet area, but is smaller than the other four seasons we've stayed at. also there is no adult pool. in the early afternoon, the families come back to the four seasons after they've had it at the mandalay pool. that's when the noise and such starts up. if you're looking for adultness you have to hit the adult pool at mandalay, "moorea." we didn't go there because it is definitely a long walk and in the 112 heat did not seem appealing. we would return to the hotel, but only if longer than a couple of days. in any case, thanks again four seasons for a nice stay.
