“Adequate but unpleasant”

We stayed in late December 2004 for 4 nights. Have to admit the adjoining rooms we had in the Sky Tower were large, clean & adequate. Two queen sized beds in each room The rooms were value for money. We were lucky to be able to check-in at midday rather than having to wait for the hundreds at 2pm. Perhaps they took pity on us as we'd travelled almost a day to get there from Australia. No fridge or tea/coffee facilities. We just slept there & were out all day. Didn't dare eat in the buffet or restaurants. The entire downstairs areas of lobby/casinos/restaurants/shops were dark, dingy, smoke-filled & unpleasant. We all felt very uncomfortable. Would not stay there again. Prefer something closer to the action. The bus back took 30 minutes because the traffic was bumper to bumper.

It was our first trip to Vegas in November of 04 and our initial impression of the entire City was blackened when we first entered the CC hotel.
It is very dark and dingy. The carpets were filthy and all around smelled dank. People hanging out in the casinos were seedy and questionable.
It felt like miles to walk to our room up escalators and elevators through drab hallways and corridors.
When we first arrived it was quite late, so nothing on the upper floors was open except a small bar which was actually pretty friendly.
Our room was just that, a room. Truly nothing to write home about. We started our journey out of our room the next morning and noticed that still, none of the shops were open. It was like everything was shutting down even though the day had just begun.
We left the hotel to venture down the strip. Again, take good walking shoes because this hotel is MILES away from anything good. You have to walk past all of the creepy areas of that end of the strip before we actually reached almost midway where everything changed completely.
**HINT: BUY A $5 CAT (TRANSIT) PASS GOOD FOR 24HRS. THE SYSTEM WORKS REALLY WELL AND WILL SAVE YOU MUCH PAIN IN YOUR FEET!!
Our holiday was overall really great. But that was because we spent all of our time on the OTHER end of the strip. We tried the buffet at CC ONCE for breakfast and that was all it took. NEVER EAT THERE! The food was disgusting and tasted like plastic. The only good thing on the buffet was the bacon and the specialty coffee you poured yourself from a machine. The staff? Didn't really see much of them except for check in, check out and of course the casino workers... if there were tables open.
My opinion? Stay at Treasure Island for the few extra bucks and definately check out the Dualing Pianos act for free at Haarahs. Now THAT'S Vegas!!

“We switched hotels after one night. Food was terrible.”

My husband, son, and I made reservations to stay at Circus, Circus last Thanksgiving. We had heard that it was all done over and we thought we would give it a try. When we arrived, it was very crowded with not so clean people. Needless to say, that was the first sign. We ate at the pony restaraunt which was "make me gag" gross! We decided that we would stay one night and give it a try and then switch hotels to the Excalibur. So, that is what we did. We tried to give it one more try. And to be very honest, the next day it settled down a lot and it was a little better, but we still decided to switch hotels. I do not recommend this hotel.

“Not a business class hotel”

Circus Circus Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

We thought we were back 20 years ago when we went to Vegas on
business for convention and stayed at Circus-Circus. Las Vegas
hotels have really racked up their rates for convention visitors and some who are accustomed to staying in the better hotels on the south side of the strip are staying in other hotels to save money.

You have to go downstairs to the "business center" to get high speed internet. The room service is only from 6:00 am to noon. Their are
no phones on the desk and you have to plug in to the phone all the
way across the room to hook up to the slow speed modem which you
can get from the room.

The lobby is dingy and the carpet looks filthy in the lobby area.

If you stay in one of the newer tower rooms you can get a good view of the strip. These rooms are large but nothing like the newer Las Vegas hotels when it comes to furniture and beds. The beds are not that great but we did sleep okay. Don't ever want to stay here again! Great for kids and families but not for business travelers. Lobby smells
bad when you first walk in.
