The New York New York is the place to stay in Las Vegas. It has everything you are looking for. Great casino, really comfortable rooms, amazing restaurants, a nice pool, arcade, great bars, great shows.... We were there for 4 nights, and we drove 5 miles down the highway and made a u-turn and stayed for 2 more nights. We visited several other hotels and casinos and none of them compare to the New York New York.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June and absolutely loved it - the room was modern, clean and stylish - I really could not fault it. The entertainment int the hotel is fantastic. To be honest this is a great hotel and the one and only negative comment I have is that the late night food service could be improved!!

This was our first trip to Vegas (there for a friends wedding). We booked five nights through Expedia, which were good value, though our final night (a mix up with dates) we booked while we were there and this proved very expensive.
The room (one up from the most basic) was great - nice decor, clean and good qaulity fixtures/fittings. We got a bath/shower (which we didn't at the Excalibur and our friends didn't at the Luxor) and the maid service was excellent; they seemed over efficient if anything, bringing new towels and soap etc whether we needed it or not.
Compared to other hotels we experienced, the room was easy to find and the lifts (elevators) always came quickly and weren't cramped (compare this to the Pyramid rooms at the Luxor, where our friends seemed to spend most of their honeymoon waiting for an 'inclinator' and walking several miles to their room!).
Check in was a bit slow due to queues, but this seemed the same at all hotels when a mjaor flight had just come in, and the staff were frinedly - we had a trainee guy who needed a little help with the systems but because he was friendly this didn't matter - even to two jet-lagged Brits.
The Casino itself seemd a lot easier to navigate than most we visited, and the New York theme was fun and less tacky than most we saw.
Restaurants were also generally good - the Italian for dinner and the Chinese for breakfast(!) been the best. The Mexican place wasn't that authentic and service at the America breakfast buffet was a bit slow and generally unfriendly (apart from a jolly guy called John who was really cool). Pirces were on a par with all other hotels we tried on the strip.
Finally, the Nine Fine Irishman pub was probably the best bar we found in Vegas - less pretentious than most and with a terrace on the strip for the late evenings. The band seemed genuinely Irish and the choice of drinks was fine. The little old asian lady who was in there most nights appeared to love the dancing!

  • Liked — One of the least tacky hotels/casinos
  • Disliked — Room expensive if booked from front desk

Stayed here for 11 nights at the start of July. Had mixed feelings about staying here due to the reviews, but we needn't have been worried.

Check-in was fast at 4.30pm on a Sunday, and we get upgraded tp a Broadway Deluxe room, at no extra cost. We also got offered a strip view room for an extra $100, but declined, we were more than happy to get the upgrade.

The room was huge and very clean, had everything you could want. The only negative I would say is that the bathroom is a bit on the small side. Providing only one of you is in there it isn't a problem.

The only small problem we had was that there was no towels at all in the room when we arrived, I called down to housekeeping and within 30 mins there was a knock at the door and plenty of towels.

Our room was on the 8th floor and I was worried about the noise from the rollercoater, but apart from the odd scream from those who were riding it, it never bothered us. The room was about a 2 min walk from the lifts and we never had to wait long for one to arrive.

We tried the America restaurant and also the mexican Gonzalez Y Gonzalez. America was ok, the service was a little slow. Gonzalez was fantastic, the service was quick and the food delicious.

Had drinks at the Big Apple bar most evenings and also tried Nine Fine Irishmen for drinks, both were nice and service was quite quick.

We had a bit of luck on the slot machines, there was plenty of them.

All in all we had a really great time at NY NY, location was great next to Monte Carlo, Excaliber, Luxor and MGM and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to family and friends. Will hopefully stay here again when we return.

My wife and I traveled to Las Vegas July 12-15 for a wedding outside of Las Vegas. When arriving at the hotel, the check in was slow, but we recieved the room we requested. It was nice, modern, clean, and comfortable. I ate at Gonzales y Gonzales for dinner the first night at the bachelor party, which was very good and reasonably priced. We then went to the Bar at Times Square, a dueling piano bar that got great reviews. I personally thought it was overrated and the drinks were pricey. Although everything in Las Vegas was pricey. The gamvling was fun. A won about $40 playing blackjack and then proceeded to loose it all at Excalibur.

The second day was a pool day after having breakfast at Paris (great buffet). The pool was crowded by 11am with almost no sun. The buildings blocked the pool until 12-1pm. With that said we really enjoyed ourselves. It was hot, so we sat in the water the entire time. After the pool, we went upstairs changed for dinner and came back down to gamble at NYNY before leaving for dinner. My wife won $30 at back jack and she decided to walk away. We hopped in a cab and went over to the Rio Hotel for dinner at Buzio's. Great food and a nice atmosphere. After dinner we went back to the hotel, changed and walked to the Bellagio to see the fountains. That was a ton of fun, but it was too hot to walk. We gambled at the Bellagio and won $35 at Blackjack. Again, it was a ton of fun.

Saturday was the wedding day, so we were gone all day, did nothing at the hotel. Paris brunch and the Venetian in the morning.

Sunday we left for the airport. Our cab driver dropped us off at Baggage Claim, but we didn't know because we were first timers. Walked to Ticketing, Checked in, and thats when the terror began. The security line was soooo long. Over an hour. We almost missed out flight. Made it by minutes...
