We stayed in this motel one night on our way from Death Valley and heading for Las Vegas.Food and accomodation were ok
Unfortunatly I left my wallet hidden under a bible in a bedside table and didnt realise for about 3 hours that it was still in the room.
We returned and informed the receptionist(A youngish30ish white male) of my mistake He phoned the head housekeeper and she went to check out if it was still there. After 5 minutes or so I asked if we could go and see for ourselves.
We went to the rooms around the back and as we arrived we saw the housekeeper locking the door to the room on the first floor.(outside staircase and veranda) as we got to the top of the stairs there was my wallet, tucked between the tread and the riser. On openong the wallet all my cash was missing but debit cards etc were intact.
The housekeeper professed astonishment that we found the wallet but could not explain how it arrived there.
We went back to reception and asked for the local police. He point blank refused to do so and after quite an arguement he gave us directions to the local sherrif,s office.
We searched for over an hour but to no avail and it being a Sunday there was no one around to ask,so we gave up and headed for Las Vegas in disgust.
On reflection we are positive the housekeeper took the cash and we feel sure the receptionist was also involved. My fault I know for leaving my wallet in the first place but just beware...
