If you can't stay in the Towers, don't stay here at all.

I agree with all the negative reports here. This is not the Towers, but an outbuilding. There was no information in the room about things going on, nor map of the hotel grounds, casino, etc. Remote did not work. Filter falling out from behind groaning and clanking A/C unit that would not cool unless turned all the way to cold. Then it was freezing.
There was no room at the towers to upgrade.
Internet costs another 11.99 and you have to walk over to the main desk to get a coupon. Don't know how it worked, cause I got so fed up I left and went to another hotel.
I normally research the heck out of hotels before I book. So I don't know what happened this time. Never checked here. Wanted to stay at the Nugget cause I like their casino, figured what the heck, Courtyard is part of the nugget. Can't be too bad. WRONG!!!!
I made a $100 plus mistake.
There are many casino/hotels in Reno costing much less with much higher quality than the Courtyard Nugget.

I booked a room through Orbitz and they said they were the cheapest and then gave me their final price. When I got to the hotel, they told me there was a $5 additional "Resort Fee" per night. What a chicken way to tell you one price to get you to book and when you arrive, they stick it to you.

Additionally, everything at this hotel is really expensive and in my opinion I wouldn't call this a resort, its just another Hotel Casino. The Hotel is isolated from anything of interest in Sparks, NV. If I was going to advise anyone, I would tell them to stay downtown Reno (about 8 mi away) where there is more to do and more competition for your dollar.

The rooms were clean.

No hot water in bathroom. Non-functioning deadbolts. Small, cramped room suitable for Munchkins or hobbits. Thin walls. Elevator stopped at every floor even though no guests were waiting. No amenities such as hair dryer, in-room coffee or safe for valuables. No signs directing us to guest parking across the street. Room was charged to credit card at time of booking, so was pre-paid. In-room on-screen checkout not allowed because hotel imposed an unexpected $5.00 "resort fee" which isn't noted anywhere. Couldn't checkout until we paid it. Stayed there only because no rooms were available in the main towers.
A 1960s room with 2009 prices.

Purchased for $69 per night on Hotwire as a 4* room. @ rooms, 6ppl. Called the hotel, and they told me Hotwire sold me two smoking rooms in the old (West) tower. Would not give me nonsmoking rooms over the phone, but noted my request on the account since I had children in each room. When I checked in, they upgraded me to two adjoining rooms with 2 queens each in the renovated East Tower. Very nice. 42" flat screens (but no HD channels), nice bathrooms, good decor, nice view. I would strongly recommend the East tower! Casino is nice too, except for the sports book. Good poker room. Good bartenders. Kids had a blast with grandma while we checked out the casino. Overall, a good experience.

Check in told us our rooms would be ready well late of our check in time. I felt we should have been compensated due to the fact that if you check out late you will be billed. The check in staff seemed oeverwhelmed and stressed.
If you don't use valet parking you will have a bit of a walk to check in.
