My husband and I , our 14 year old daughter and my 87 year old mother just stayed at the Blue Jay. It was the perfect choice and a great get away. Instead of driving hours to Cape Cod or the Southern Coast of ME, we looked for an ocean destination closest to our home in Vermont. The Trip Advisor reviews made us pick this motel and we were lucky that they had availabillty. It was so nice to be able to walk to everything-the beach, a coffee shop, restaurants and the Ocean Blvd Boardwalk. The owner, Mary was great. The room was clean. The refrigerator was useful. The bathroom was a little snug and the Ashworth Ave traffic noise took some getting use to but the positives outweigh the negatives and we look forward to staying at the Blue Jay again. Our teenager loved Ocean Blvd and that there was something to do after hanging out at the beach most of the day. The Hampton Beach State Park beach was fantastic. Plenty of sand and waves. Life Guards and Horseback Police patroled. The water temperature were brisk but the water pools that form on the beach in the morning were warmer and great for kids. We didn't hang out at North Beach but stopped to see it on our way home. We were impressed to see so many surfers.
