Warm, welcoming & wonderful B&B experience overall! Location is beautiful with mountain views, a babbling brook, hiking trails, and picturesque Jackson close by with its great restaurants. The innkeepers, Dick & Sally, set the positive tone as soon as you arrive so you know your stay is going to be a good one. The whole Inn is well decorated, comfortable and really, really clean! All the rooms are unique with each having its own inviting personality. Breakfast was delicious and fun as my wife and I shared the big long table and bow backed chairs with guests from England, Tasmania and San Francisco. The fresh fruit cup with a sorbet garnish was followed by a perfectly baked cheese strata souffle with a dash of spice available from the bottle of HP sauce imported by the Innkeepers from England. After hiking (or shopping in North Conway!) you can unwind on the front porch with its great view or a soak in the hot tub on the back deck. For us it was the perfect, relaxing B&B experience and we can't wait to return.

Carter Notch Inn

This was our second stay with Dick & Sally at the lovely Carter Notch Inn. We previously stayed in the Summer and enjoyed the delights of the garden and veranda but the winter experience was just magical. The hotel is beautifully decorated, comfortable and very clean, the hosts are warm, funny and very friendly and of course you can't forget Henry the dog and Lulu the cat.
Breakfast was amazing and kept us going all day. The hospitality and atmosphere is just first class. We can't wait to go back.

If you’re thinking about a trip to the State of New Hampshire, to see Mt. Washington and Franconia State Park, you should really consider staying at the Carter Notch Inn, located in Jackson, NH. An amazing and immaculate Bed & Breakfast that you will never forget. A very cozy place in the center of it all, hosted by Sally and Dick, two of the nicest people you will ever meet, who will treat you like members of their family, and cater to your every need. Sit around at the end of your day and enjoy a glass of wine or freshly made cookies. We spent four wonderful days at this immaculate Inn. You won’t need to make reservations for dinner. Sally and Dick will recommend where the finest restaurants are located and make your reservations for you. They can provide you with brochures of all the attractions in the area and Dick will map out precise directions. Breakfast is the highlight of the day, where you see Sally and Dick together, doing what they do best, serving their guests a gourmet breakfast and helping you start your day. By far, the best Bed and Breakfast we have stayed at and look forward to a return trip.

By any measure the Carter Notch Inn is top notch. It is a beautiful old inn immaculately maintained in a picture book setting.
The innkeepers, Sally and Dick, are perfect hosts who succeed in making their guests' stay truly memorable ---- Their warmth, wit and knowledge of the Mt. Washington Valley area (so generously shared) is very special and greatly appreciated by their guests. Every morning breakfast is a delicious surprise which Sally and Dick prepare and graciously serve ------ Every afternoon guests can help themselves to Sally's freshly baked cookies and tea.
Henry, their old English sheep dog, and Lulu, their cat, are the "icing on the cake"!
We loved our four night "visit" with Sally and Dick in their charming and lovely home. We look forward to returning to the Carter Notch Inn and highly recommend it to anyone seeking an outstanding B&B experience.

We have recently returned from a stay at the fantastic Carter Notch Inn. Our overall stay in Jackson and the White Mountains was superb, great accommodation, great location and sublime walks!

What magnificent hosts Dick and Sally are. Both are really friendly people who cannot do enough for you. From Dick's advice on hiking and extensive local knowledge to Sally's delicious cooked breakfast to keep us going for the day. On return to the guest house we were met with a hot beverage and fresh baked cookies or a glass of wine or two.

The Accommodation at the Inn is very warm and welcoming with a very relaxed atmosphere which made it feel like home from home. The decor was very pleasing and comfortable. Our room was bright, spacious and spotlessly clean.

The Carter Notch Inn would be our top recommendation for a stay in the White Mountains. We hope to return there sometime in the future for another fantastic stay.
