We wanted to reward the people who work with my husband, and decided on a weekend away. We wanted a place that had a dining room, so we chose the Inn. There were five couples, and everyone raved. The hospitality was warm and friendly, and all the people who worked there seemed genuinely happy to be there. Perhaps it was the new fallen snow.
The common rooms were just the right size, with conversation areas made up of comfy chairs and couches pulled up by fireplaces. The rooms were impressive--clean, spacious but cozy, with everything you may wish for. Our bed was excellent--fine sheets, a featherbed, and a down quilt. We had the Brookmead Suite so we could all get together in a living area, and it had a wet bar and fireplace. I also liked the dimmers on the lights. Small things, but they make a difference.
Breakfasts and dinners were gourmet, with several interesting choices. The corned beef hash and eggs florentine were real hits for breakfast. The tea and freshly made cookies were delicious when we came in from a sleigh ride. At dinner, we all had different meals, and there was a lot of sharing. "Wow, you have to taste this!" The only complaint my husband had was there wasn't a sommelier to help us with the volumnous wine list. We managed fine, though.
Everything was perfect--really. If there were any problems earlier, they seem to have worked them out, because we didn't experience anything that wasn't wonderful. We travel quite a bit, and can say this place was one of the best. We will definitely be back.
