Does the Moose need another First Rate review? It seems to me that they have enough already! So I'll be short and to the point. All you've read is true, it's a terrific place.
Accomodation great, breakfasts great and hosts great.
Location is away from the noise of main street, but walkable to the restaurants. Listen to Leon & Nellie for restaurant recommendations by the way (and anything else for that matter), they were spot on.
Going to North Conway? Don't even think of anywhere else!

This year was our third stay at the Spruce Moose. All three of our visits were in the Pierce cottage with our dogs. The Inn is located a few minutes walk from town with great shopping and dining, yet is also only minutes from great hiking and canoeing spots making this a perfect place for the shopper and the naturalist alike. Leon and Nellie the innkeepers Make it all happen, and they do an exceptional job. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else, and will be back in 2008!

We've just returned from a week at the Spruce Moose Lodge & Cottages, and had a great vacation. The lodge is in a perfect location, a couple of minutes from the heart of town. An easy walk. We stayed in the Chief's Quarters and found the cottage to be clean & spacious, as well as warm and inviting. Nellie & Leon, the innkeepers made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. The cottage has a full kitchen, equipped with everything you need & there were fresh linens & towels throughout our stay. The kids loved the bunk beds! It was great to be able to spread out a bit & not all be cramped together. We brought our dog with us, and Nellie looked after him as if he were part of their own crew (Whitman & Lilly). It was an extra bonus to be able to bring the dog & go out and know that we was not only being cared for, that he was having a great time with his new friends! In addition to the kitchen , we had our own outdoor area with a nice table & gas grill for our use. All in all, an excellent stay! We'll definitely be repeat customers.

This was our first stay at the Spruce Moose and we can't wait to come back! We had a wonderful family weekend in the Chief's Quarters. Since we are not pet owners, I was a bit apprehensive about staying in a place that welcomed pets. I should not have worried - everything was recently renovated, very well maintained and super clean. The Chief's Quarters are especially great for larger families - 2 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 8 people and an incredibly spacious common area.

The kitchen in the cottage had everything we needed, the beds (even the bunk beds) were incredibly comfortable, there were even board games for the kids. One of the most relaxing vacation dinners we had was in the picnic area at the cottage - the adults could eat and the kids could run around and play! Great location close to the center of North Conway, very friendly hosts, what more can I say? We will definitely return.
