I stayed here with my husband for two nights. The inn has a great location, you can walk to most of North Conway village's shopping and restaurants. Skiing and other outdoor activities are very close by. We were in room 6 which is one of the smallest rooms. It was fine for a few nights but would have been tight if we were staying longer. The bathroom, however, was very large. Both still seemed brand new and were very clean. The room also had a gas stove for heat which was nice. The parking lot seemed small, but finding a spot was easy enough, and I think the inn was pretty full during our stay. In the morning they put out coffee, tea, OJ and muffins and scones. The coffee and muffins were very good, and there seemd to be plenty available. The staff was friendly as well. My only complaint was that the rooms are not soundproof at all. I slept fine at night but was unable to take a nap on my first day because of the noise. I would defnitely return but would probably stay in one of higher priced rooms which seemed more quiet.

We stayed 2 nights and had a very nice time. The room was clean and had a nice fit and finish. The bed was perfect and warm. Our room had a gas woodstove that really got things cooking as the chill set in at night. No adjoining room noise. No problems with check in. Nice staff. It's perfectly located to walk to town (1/2 a block) for shopping and eats. Go to the Upstairs Cafe or Peaches for breakfast, both lovely and local. The Kearsarge Inn is an INN as advertised and not a B&B, so don't expect breakfast as another reviewer mistakenly reported. The muffins, etc which were offered were underwhelming for sure. They should do a better job with that or just stick to the coffee, tea and juice. We found our stay to be a pleasure.

We found the Kearsarge Inn on arriving in North Conway. We had no set plans for the area and just drove through and looked for an inn with a convenient location and nice accomodations. We happened to be at the Inn during a slow period (beginning of summer), so we got a great rate on a cute room with a train theme. The Inn was very clean and modern. The Inn Keeper gave us great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. She even let us use the Inn's computer to print out some maps and to allow us to check in for our flights. The continental breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other continental breakfasts I have had (I had a banana, my husband had a muffin), but for the price we paid for the room, I can hardly complain. Overall, I would recommend the inn. The inn was built in the last few years, so if you are looking for something historic, you might want to look elsewhere, but if you like the look of an old inn with modern amenities, this place is for you!

We stayed at the Kearsarge Inn for four nights and loved it. I booked the room by phone and was given a large room on the first floor. This was a last minute booking in New Hampshire's busy season so I was thrilled to get a room. I will admit I was a bit wary of this inn due to some of the reviews I read but we couldn't have been happier. The room had a very comfortable king size bed and a pull out couch for our toddler. We also had enough room for a pack and play for our infant without making the room feel cramped. The bathroom was enormous! The staff made us feel very welcome and were very attentive when we needed something. The continental breakfast was sufficient, we usually grabbed a mufffin or two and went on our way. If you need more there are several bakeries, coffee shops and breakfast places within walking distance. There are also numerous restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. We didn't try Decades, the Inn owned restaurant, but only because we have been to this area before and knew where we wanted to eat. The Inn is located in a central location near shops and the North Conway Train Scenic Railroad. I wouldn't recommend this inn if you are looking for a place to play, swim or hang out with the kids, but if your looking for a nice, clean place to stay I would definately recommend it. I will probably go back with my wife for a nice weekend away. By the way, the inn has a Lifesaver rate program for public servants (police, fire, EMT) for those that qualify.

“Okay, but not great”

Kearsarge Inn

21 Aug 2007

I have mixed emotions about this place. We loved the room-- it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. However, when you stay at a bed and breakfast, you come to expect breakfast. When we went for breakfast, there was barely enought coffee for one and there were a few muffins that didn't look very good. We left and decided to go out for breakfast.

Perhaps I would not have been disappointed if they had been up front with the limited breakfast options.
