“Awful!!!”

Isaac Merrill House

11 Feb 2008

We arrived at this hotel and left immediatly! We were in room 15 the floors were crooked and dirty, there were stains on the bed the room was awful. I called the # and the night watchman told me there was nothing he could do, he told me to call back in the morning. Keep in mind that my husband spent $317 dollars for the weekend. I called back in the morning and the guy that I spoke to was so rude to me he told me to call back on monday. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, it was an all around awful experience. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

“Felt like royalty at the comfortable Isaac Merril House”

We have stayed at this romantic bed and breakfast three times in the last three years. We would have stayed many more times but unable to do so because of family obligations. We love how close it is to everything without being downtown. It is just down the street from the very fun, enjoyable..Cranmore Mt. We used to ski there frequently.
The neighborhood is very quiet, beautiful and peaceful scenery.

The Inn is run by such nice people...it is difficult to put into words how comfortable we felt during our stays. Honesty and integrity...oh and good food too. The Inn is tastefully decorated year round... EXtremely beautiful in December!! erril House

We have recommended this Inn to other friends and they also relayed good experiences. The Inn has a very "at home, content and relaxing feel" You truly are allowed to feel at home, books, puzzles and games can be found if you need them.

We subscribe to the website e-mails for updates and special offerings. I cannot tell you how valuable that is!!! They always have a great price special on a regular basis.

I can't wait to go back again...oh ...yes the rooms are comfortable, beds are comfy ...no odors other than fresh firewood in your fireplace if you book that type of room...never found any issues of a negative concern. Thanks Sue P

We were enticed by the web special and booked Thanksgiving weekend at the last minute. We were given a two bedroom room. (#1 & #2) First, the good. The weekend rate was cheap for North Conway and the room(s) were big enough to accomodate us. Our 2 year old slept in the smaller room and we slept in the larger room with our infant in a pack & play. The breakfast was good (pancakes, french toast, toast, bagels, english muffins & yogurt. Starbucks coffee!) and saved us some money. The staff was accomodating but not overly personable. When they were there they spent most of their time on the computer or in the kitchen. Only one staff person worked each day, so they were pretty busy. The rooms were made up quickly and were clean.
Now the bad, the rooms were very outdated. The linen was old and the rugs were stained. The towels were stiff and not hotel quality. The heat was an older furnace and could not be controlled. It was extremely hot at times. The Inn could be so much better with a little TLC. There are repairs that could be made to improve the overall appearance but haven't been. Overall, our experience was good but with so many quality places to stay in North Conway I'd shop around next time.

Stayed for 2 nights in room 14 at the top of the stairs. Rate was great thru website ($119 + tax for weekend). Can't beat that rate.
Room was clean. Yes, floors were creaky but hey, this house was built in (I think) 1700's. It definitely does need some TLC. I was disappointed in breakfast, which was pancakes or french toast. Nothing special and no bacon, sausage, etc.
Shower had little water pressure and lost hot water when someone else used theirs. Funny thing, they put on a water saver shower head yet the bathroom sink dripped the whole time.
As I said, couldn't beat the price but needs some maintenance.

What a complete DUMP!!! Don't bother staying there. It is dirty, The management is rude, and the inn doesn't look anything like the website.
